It's not difficult. 3 merger committees. The APA isn't as interested in a USAPA style cluster F as USAPA is. The union is given a "wide range of reasonableness" when it comes to SLI. Funding 3 parties would probably be considered a reasonable thing to do...as opposed to the USAPA scorched earth, spin the wheels with the peddle floored mentality.

DOH cram down failed the wide range of reasonableness test. No one is changing their opinions. It's USAPA the changes like a chameleon depending upon whom they're addressing. They're too stupid to notice the other parties are all in the same room watching them flip time and time again. Silver nailed it. Go ahead. Appeal your big win. I'd love to see the flip flop testimony. Silver set a trap and you guys never saw it coming. Now you've been castrated and await a real union.

They aren't the mortal enemy like USAPA either. They seem to be run very business-like by actual adults. Again, unlike USAPA. I think the West has faith in the basic fairness in an independently represented arbitration panel. If fact I've never heard anyone West even express the slightest fear of arbitration. You East guys are screaming bloody murder and are currently embroiled in 5 lawsuits against the worlds largest airline and the APA. So I guess that means one thing:you obviously have faith in the basic fairness of an independently represented arbitration and that scares the living sh## out of you. Because "fairness" has never been even a passing concern for you or your fake union.

 
 
Ask the TWA pilots about "adults"... you have TWA guys that came to USAir and then got furloughed, then got hired at AWA, and the thought the Nic was their ticket to the promised land.... perhaps they have forgotten about what TWA did to them since they are blind with rage that they didn't get to leapfrog everyone at USAir.  😀

The only way the West has a merger committee with the authority to sit under the MB Statute is via a court order that reverses Judge Silver, or if the USAir pilots concede the lawsuit.  The APA benefits the most with every day that delays the SLI.  They were paying attention and learned something from USAPA. 😀

"They seem to be..." so they, without possible doubt of any kind, "aren't the mortal enemy"..? TWA and all the APA's past history be damned? Wow! So Metro...How well is life as a member of a purely faith-based cult really going for you? 😉 I'd be honestly surprised to see any full seniority resolution and one-size-fits-all merging completed before at least another 2 years or so in any case.

I'm less impressed by speculations about what a union can get away with doing (even if they think it is "just the right thing to do") and more impressed with what a union can get away with doing because it helps their cause.   Name five APA pilots that want to move to PHX, PHL, or CLT... If you already have everything you want, provoking a protracted lawsuit is da bomb to keep others at bay.  😀

Not everyone puts what they can steal in the short term ahead of building a strong union and contract to ensure their long term future.
