Electronic Membership Application for US Airways Pilots
At some point in the future, we expect the National Mediation Board to make a single-carrier determination. In preparation for that event, we have worked closely with the USAPA Membership Committee to develop an electronic membership application in order to expedite the timeline for processing a large number of applications. Your APA Membership Committee will be busy reviewing applications and assisting in domicile meetings where new members will be voted in. New domiciles will be created, and the APA president will initially appoint domicile officers until elections can be held in accordance with the APA Constitution and Bylaws.
For an overview of what will happen once we get to single-carrier status, please read the APA vice president's column in the latest edition of Flightline. The column lays out the steps involved in transitioning former US Airways pilots to APA governance and representation.
Feel free to encourage pilots you know at US Airways to fill out the membership application so we can establish the new domiciles and representatives as quickly and smoothly as possible once a single-carrier determination is made.

Leonidas update:
Today, the West class filed a notice of appeal with Judge Silver's court. You can read the notice here. This is the first step in filing an appeal and failure to file this notice within the 30 days of Judge Silver's March 31st order would preclude any appeal. The Clerk at the Ninth Circuit will receive a copy of this notice and they will initiate their process of docketing our case, and the West attorneys will soon file a notice to the Ninth Circuit which designates the parties to the appeal. Typically, there is a lapse of several weeks or even months before an appellant (the party who files the appeal) files the first brief, and it will not be until this brief is filed that the issues on appeal are known by the other parties. The West pilots in this appeal are the appellants.
Sincerely,
Leonidas, LLC

The other parties (US Airways and USAPA) have 14 days to file a cross-appeal. A cross-appeal allows the party filing it to argue that the decision is incorrect and should be changed. The Clerk has issued a Scheduling Order; Plaintiff’s - Appellants Brief is due July 30, 2014. Answering Briefs are due August 29, 2014. Reply Briefs are due 14 days after the filing of the Answering Briefs. Once the briefs are filed, the Court will set a date for oral argument. The normal time for oral argument is anywhere from 12-20 months from the date the appeal is filed. There is no time limit for issuing a decision following oral argument, but in most cases the decision is issued 3 months to a year after oral argument.

Funny, Is this a self proclamation your now a class,! Wasn't that denied?

No. Every single West pilot has been forcibly saddled to the AOL. They have no legal rights to oppose nor sue for DFR against the wishes of the AOL8 angry f/o's.

How is that for irony?

Can they sue them personally?  THAT would be a show worth watching.

Fantastic. Another drag out for maybe a few more years. Meanwhile, East pilots by the hundreds are hired. Hundreds of senior pilots retire, and East pilots move into the highest paying positions in the airline. Huge raises.
Why any West pilot thinks dragging this out any longer makes sense is beyond me, but I am very happy about it. Thank You Leonidas.

APA pilots, you are next to be dragged into the legal Afghanistan of Leonidas. Get your legal monies banked. You will be subjected to years of fruitless litigation.

Every west F/O would be senior enough to hold a international wide body position with DOH. That's passing up a lot of money, not to mention the captains. Go Leonidas.

Don't laugh.. Just wait. It is a fool proof invincible weapon and USAPA is cornered on the edge of a cliff. Just you watch.

Gentlemen: I fear we're all missing the sublime subtlety of their grand plan here. Apparently all that needs be done is delay things until the day the APA reigns supreme and can supposedly do as they will. MBond be damned, etc. At that time the APA, due to both the proven kindness of their hearts and abject fear of the west's record of failed litigation, will naturally elevate the west to some special status and make sure all their dreams come true. Doing so would of course prevent any possible litigation from the much larger east contingent, one must suppose. After all; who could ever look at the west's track record in courts, and after all the laughter subsides, not lie awake at night in abject fear of them? I must personally salute their brilliant strategy, both past and present. 😉

You're not getting DOH, you can quit begging the West to stop fighting.

What's with all the "begging" fantasy? Just for that word to be a major component of anyone's vocabulary speaks volumes. You're spending way too much time around chip methinks. 😉

He is always begging us to confess we are begging instead of laughing.
