That move on pay parity was stupid too. You kept yourselves the second lowest paid, now east pilots have achieved pay superiority and massive upgrades. You archived nothing.
You are looking at ten yrs to be fenced off the AA heavies, and years until you ever touch a 76 or 330. Your hole, and you dug it. Meanwhile new hire east pilots occupy 767 seats and capt slots.

I feel the Luv fest will be over in short order and the west will have a new union to hate. PHX will be a lonely island. Not that being on the east will be a picnic but I wouldn't want to be the group with little longevity, little attrition, little airplanes and one poor hub.

I doubt anyone could quickly even count the times the "spartans" have offered up, quoting here: "Karma's a Bi-ch", and perhaps never even considered that greed-soaked attempts at placing their own, even 3 month newhires, ahead of other human beings of the same class and craft with even 16-17 years of continuous service worked, just "might" affront lofty notions of presumed "karma", much less the one true Judge of such. 😉

I'd be hesitant to get a pulse off the pilot group by talking to pilots on YOUR jumpseat. I was mentored in aviation by an American pilot and know AA pilots well enough that they flew in for my wedding. That's not the message i'm getting and they're very senior.

I can't believe your story about the senior guys they have nothing to lose with DOH they have over 50 777's and plenty of 76's those guys would not be affected in any way,they would be protected also with a 5 yr fence you are looking at about at least 3 to 4 thousand retirements also.

Let us not overlook the vast numbers of ex-AMR, now "new" American furloughed, that by west/nic estimation, hold zero value.....which I've not even the slightest doubt is universally agreed within the APA....No? 😉 Oh well. No worries for the west, since the APA's bound to ensure they get their now-nullifed-by-MOU/contract nic, especially as a then-APA-acceptably-precedented, and thus agreeable template for possible arbitration....No? Panel of arbitrators convene: "Yo APA...You guys advanced the nic, so how's 'bout we treat this new deal the same?...Nic's one of our "well-respected" colleagues, after all...Well?" Well USAPA has posted that document on the USAPA website. I'm glad Bean quantified his response as rumor. Because that's what it was. This document in no way says anything about any negotiations being delayed or suspended until single carrier is determined by the NMB. It is only the response by the NMB required for the NMB to start it's investigation. And as suspected, the APA is requesting that the new union be the APA by virtue of their current size. This will likely be granted, imo, without a representational vote by the membership. This will save time and money as I'm quite confident IF a vote were to happen, the vast majority of members from the APA and the East and West would vote for the APA.
 
So we have the SLI protocol agreement due by Feb. 9th. The JCBA work is still being conducted as required by the MOU. The MOU does state, that once the APA becomes the bargaining representative, it will represent all pilots in regards to the JCBA. So basically USAPA's role will be reduced solely to SLI negotiation at that point. Of course our current BPR reps would still be the domicile reps under the APA for the CLT, PHL and PHX bases. (Not sure how they will handle DCA as it's a current APA domicile)
 
The APA is working with USAPA on the JCBA. It's called picking cherries. There would be no reason not to have input from USAPA for a new agreement once the APA becomes our union. We all want the best contract possible, and, as in CRM, it helps to get as much input from various sources to make that happen... the APA put out a message about a Reserve task force to work on reserve rules to go into the new JCBA, they have asked USAPA to participate in this as well. Apparently "capn' aux" has posted a "year of the aux" pic showing a "Fighter Fantasy" encounter with Macchis, with even a smoke trail from his presumed "kill"!!!, proclaiming 2014 "the year of the aux!"...WOW!....Folks...you just cant make this stuff up. 😉  Might I just plain, please, pretty please, PLEASE ask of all  "you'se" mighty "spartans" to inform that pathetic creature that "he's"/it's fully open to a 10 grand bet that he's nothing more than a truly pathetic joke with/in any such encounter? Which gives USAPA pilots and even bigger slice of the pie. West gets DOH with East and then that list merges with APA. A USAPA 1985 pilot could be slotted in with an APA 1983 pilot and so on.
