Again?  REALLY?!?
Why don't you go back to the community college and take business 101.

That is NOT was Parker says and that is NOT what 10-K says.

In short LEGALLY:

"US Airways Group, a Delaware corporation, is a holding company formed in 1982 and whose origins trace back to the formation of All American Aviation in 1939. US Airways Groups principal executive offices are located at 111 West Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe, Arizona 85281. US Airways Groups telephone number is (480) 693-0800, and its internet address is www.usairways.com. US Airways Groups primary business activity is the operation of a major network air carrier, through its ownership of the common stock of America West Holdings and its wholly owned subsidiary AWA; US Airways; Piedmont Airlines, Inc. (Piedmont); PSA Airlines, Inc. (PSA); Material Services Company, Inc. (MSC); and Airways Assurance Limited. On September 12, 2004, US Airways Group and its domestic subsidiaries, US Airways, Piedmont, PSA and MSC (collectively, the Reorganized Debtors), which at the time accounted for substantially all of the operations of US Airways Group, filed voluntary petitions for relief under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Alexandria Division. On May 19, 2005, US Airways Group signed a merger agreement, subsequently amended on July 7, 2005, with America West Holdings pursuant to which America West Holdings merged with a wholly owned subsidiary of US Airways Group. The plan of reorganization of US Airways Group and its domestic subsidiaries was confirmed by the Bankruptcy Court on September 16, 2005. The merger became effective upon US Airways Groups emergence from bankruptcy on September 27, 2005. Following the merger, America West Holdings continued as a wholly owned subsidiary of US Airways Group."

Again for the LEGALLY IMPAIRED, AWA did not have the money to "acquire" US Airways.  To "combine" the airlines:

"The merger has been accounted for as a reverse acquisition using the purchase method of accounting. As a result, although the merger was structured such that America West Holdings (LEGALLY) became a wholly owned subsidiary of US Airways Group, America West Holdings was treated as the acquiring company for accounting purposes (FASB) due to the following factors:

(1) America West Holdings stockholders received the largest share of US Airways Groups common stock in the merger in comparison to unsecured creditors of US Airways Group;
(2) America West Holdings received a larger number of designees to the board of directors; and
(3) America West Holdings Chairman and Chief Executive Officer prior to the merger became the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the combined company.

As a result of the reverse acquisition, the 2005 consolidated statement of operations for the new US Airways Group presented in this report is comprised of the results of America West Holdings for the 269 days through September 27, 2005 and consolidated results of US Airways Group for the 96 days from September 27, 2005 through December 31, 2005. The results of operations for fiscal years 2004 and 2003 are those of America West Holdings."

I didn't anywhere in the 10-K AWA pilots had greater career expectations that anyone else.  Parker and Kirby will tell you that.  Go ask them.

FUD
Get your facts straight.

I have a degree in finance, and know dysfunction when I see it. That "union" of yours should be great material for a thesis on how not to run a union. Where's the industry leading contract? What do you do all day? Sit around and try to impress each other? A bunch of blowhards as was described by a pilot who attended one of your meetings.

"They all sit around (in uniform, of course....4 stripes, all) and try to look and act important and relevant. A BPR meeting is a strange and surreal experience.

The WHOLE time I am thinking, "Gosh..I wish Dug would have allowed them to SHUT DOWN. They would ALL be either OUT of the business, or new hires somewhere else." I have witnessed FIRST HAND the incredible emotional, financial, and human wreckage that an airline shutdown deals out to employees. I have always said I would NEVER wish that on anyone....until now....Those USair pricks deserved THAT.

When I get home I wanna take 3 friggan showers. The stinch of a corrupt and incompetent, yet self-important, group getting together for a giant circle jerk and spit-swapping session is truly hard to wash off!!!"

I'm certain the APA is anxious to place hundreds of  "roadblocks" on the path of their own pilots' advancement.  They can't WAIT to get the Nicolau abortion in place, then go back to their pilots and tell them their advancement is now stalled....forever.
You are so right all the AA guys I know feel the west should go ahead of their own pilots and I hear they want to give them all wide body slots, after all AA have always been generous when it come to merges.

So I take it Jeff Freund gave you the outlook for your future.  Sucks to be you.  You have what you brought to the airline.  Best of luck to you.

Certainly your union did not work with East managers to make that happen.

They never take care of their own as you may find out in the near future.

Changes are a comin....

How's the future of RIo flying out of CLT, btw?

Should be interesting 😉
I wore a special smile when I heard RIO was going away. We lose money on the route with an A330. The place is filthy and the trip sucks. It frees up two A330s to go someplace else. I couldn't be happier about it. I see Dublin is starting up out of PHL as is Barcelona and PHX out of CLT. It's a good life... 🙂

Freund is in your corner but will you listen this time............."According to our reports, on Day One of Wye River, Jeff Freund warned the West MEC that if USAPA won, the West risked losing everything. He urged reaching an agreement. He was gone on Day Two. We wont address his motivation for leaving. As Jeff Freund observed in his rebuttal to the East MEC lawsuit, the NIC was not in stone. JEFF WILL TELL YOU ACCEPT DOH.

What he didn't know was the West representatives were dispatched to Wye River with NO authorization whatsoever to modify or negotiate anything. They were only there to satisfy ALPA. What makes you think, after all this time, they would listen to him now? He is there to make the house payment...nothing more, nothing less.

I really doubt that.  No one seems to know why he left USAPA in the first place.  This had to have been know for a while that he was leaving because the MC had other firms lined up for interviewing even before he was gone.

I'll put that in my book of sure-things.  Right there next to DOH and Kasher will pay.
No, It's not sure fire, but logical. Parker has publicly stated that PHX is larger than it need to be because of the restrictions on flying in the TA and some of them carried over to the MOU. Once those restrictions are gone, why would the company keep the excess flying there?

We don't really know where any of the flying will be then, but east coast bases have a time advantage.
