514 INFORMER newsletter

Sounds as though the "Pie-Holes" are already clammoring this agreement is far from the needs of the members and Luis is angered by the freedom of speech taking place on the base.

Mr. Luis you have control of the information we are given, if the information beyond the highlights would make this look more reasonable (which I doubt to be fact) then you should have released the details instead of the highlilghts.

Maybe if you didnt insist on secret negotiations we would already be informed and C.A.V.E. men would be non-existent. Your own policies allow for the C.A.V.E. men and now you whine they exist.

Controlled secret information gives birth to C.A.V.E. men you seem to have a problem with.

Another point:
How do you plan to have FINAL CONTRACT language in my hands for 30 days when there are issues that a "committee" will later negotiate?

The only way I will have FINAL LANGUAGE is if you negotiate ALL details before I vote.

Asking me to vote on iissues that are not yet negotiated is a typical TWU method of operation to sneak through further concessions after the ratification.

I for one am voting a big fat NO. That's if we get to vote.

I really think the pie hole comment is over the top. Coming from a Company Union it is about par. Sounds like time to pAArk some plAAnes!

My pie hole has been open since the highlights came out no words just disbelief. OMG!!!!

Well Steve now you can shut your PIE HOLE. It's time the members opened theirs. I hope this sham is voted down. My vote is no. We lose 17 1/2 % and after 7 years get back 6%? What happened to the recovering what we lost? 6% won't even cover the inflation since we "SAVED" the company. Seems like every time the company whines they are loosing money our Union Leaders fall for it. And then they turn right around and give themselves HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS IN BONUSES. Steve you are a FOOL right along with the rest of your staff. We need to change unions and go to the Teamsters. At least they have B_ _ _ S to stand up to this crap.

My initial thought when seeing the "highlowlights" sheet was that it would pass in Tulsa with some of the designed perks to certain groups. Being that their is no incentive for title 2, and the cave men pie hole comments, I am starting to think this thing has a good chance of being voted down.

You call us cavemen with pie holes I am at a loss for words on what to call a company man that holds a union position.

Do some simple math and calculate the value equated to retirement medical for 49 yrs old and younger

If you entered the pref-funding plan at age 30 which most of us did you have invested less than $5000.00 in the prefund retirement medical plan.

If you currently have a maximum sick bank of 1200 hours you have a compensation value of $36,000.00 (1200 X $30.00 per hour)
If you accumulate a new maximum of 2000 hours in your sick bank the compensation value $60,000.00 (20o0 X $30.00 per hour)

A full maximum bank will buy you 8.33 years of early retirement (2000 hours/ 20 hours per month = 100 months equals 8.33 years)

At full sick time pay the value of your early retirement to AA has reached $60,000.00 from less than $5,000.00 current.

A 49 year old with a current maximum bank cannot even accumulate a new maximum bank by age 55
64 hours per X 6 years added to the current 1200 hour bank = 1584 hours
1584 hours will only purchase 6.6 years of retirement medical and you current have 10 years @ less than $5000.00

Whoever submitted this proposal is counting on your inability to do math.

So shut your "Pie-Hole" and listen to the future International Appointments sell you a worthless change in your future.

One can liken the language used to the rough and tough sailors or yesteryear trying to keep up their aire of being hardened ala Dennis Buchette - you know, say whatever it takes to assure others think of you as a hard-ass and someone to be respected.

Evidently, Luis thinks this attitude is what got Burchette seated at the International and he's doing his best to follow in the footsteps while all the time only proving himself to be a short-sighted little girl afraid of his own shadow. Exactly what one would expect from a true company man.

I will not be told by anyone what to talk about/not talk about and when/when not to do so, especially by someone who obviously has ulterior motives.

Word is that Steve Luis and Steve Gilboy pushed through the Confidentiality letter for the Negotiations Team at the last IEC meeting because they didnt like that some were letting out how some who talk a hard union line when their members can hear talk a different line when then cant.

Steve should have been more specific, I guess he meant shut the Pie 'IN" hole and open the pie "out " hole , again.
