Now if you take this job and say you have 20 years with original U are you now starting at the bottom of the new U? Are all jobs now being put on COB's There still is a bid system correct? Anybody got any info on this.

B)
That is an AWA job. If you take that job you are at the bottom of the AWA list and will be then later merged into the combined group.
If you are a current US employee in a Union job you should not move to a AWA at this time.
However if you are in a non union job that may be eleminated and you want to stay with the company then go for it!
IMHO

Does the closing date mean anything? I notice the bid does not close until 10/26/05 if I read the bid correctly :p I really don't think COB's are filled before the closing date.

closing date is the last day you can apply for the job

NO need to worry about this post it has been filled by a highly qualified awa mechanic
Are you saying US mechanics are not highly qualified?

We overhaul our A320s and 737s and you don't.

Mechanics who work overhaul are very highly qualified as are line mechanics.

take it as you wish, you seem to know it all

Your denial says it all.

Not man enough to answer the question or back your words?

Better hope you never get bumped to a US station with your attitude towards the US Mechanics.

Relax a little bit 700UW, he didn't say anything about UW, nor did he imply anything negative!
You sound a bit insecure, you feeling OK?

well with that attitude lets see the fun us air mechs will have at hp stations, we got a lot of brakes and lavs for them to work on, it will be fun

Well since you are Junior you would be the first to work on them and not the senior folks.

That may be the way it used to work for you guys - the way things work in the new company you donot get to choose the calls you take - give you a little time and you will get used to your new bosses. Calls are done in rotation, you get what they call you out for when it is your turn. Sometimes it is easy sometimes it sucks, but it is always in rotation.

Umm,

Get use to the new way of doing business when the IAM contract becomes the CBA, the Lead Mechanic makes the assignments and he/she choose who goes and does what.

are you saying this as that the IAM will get the whole deal which will include the HP mechanics? and if so what will come to if the IAM say lost the votes of the mech. Would Teamsters be the new union if they get the majority of the votes?
