AAA/AWA pilots begin to put this behind us...

I was waiting for a hotel van....nearby two AWA pilots were waiting for their's....I said hello.....then they said hello......then the van arrived.

Jump seat talk should not be taken seriously, I have been on many UAL, AMR, etc seats and they started to talk politics. I always answered this with, "I agree with you 100 percent, I am trying to get home, how do you work this jump seat and belt while I am sitting here with my life in your hands and my ride home. Good point sir, hmmph, when will we arrive, thank you sir, good point by the way."

Citrus and Southwest have been the greatest, but they do not belong to ALPA, how can this be?

So touching!!!

It's a start...

Yes it is. Anything is better than berating each other in real life. In other words if you see a counterpart somewhere, you don't have to act like BFF How about being cordial?

Not going into details of the past. Just focussing on the future.

Outstanding!!!!

Exactly. It is way too late for most of us, lets make a difference for the future. ALPA goes. APA, SWPA, and pilot groups that govern themselves prosper. America West under cut us for years then show up acting like we owe them, it will not work.

Please check the topic posters history, they were very condescending and ended each post with good day children. Now the poster expects us to accept the olive branch and buy property from him in Florida swamp land.

The legal and corporate moves, and the perseverance of each pilot group will decide history. Because of their relative youth and their naiveness, they can not understand that we have listened to all the sales pitches, all the rhetoric, all the bravo sierra. One thing we have left is get rid of ALPA, make sure this merger will never work and the future management will read this in their business school classes and never attempt this synergy strategy again.

Pan Am, Eastern, Braniff, the explorers of aviation, were all sent on their way by the cowardly, button pushing pilots that followed. These same "gentleman" will have their Social Security and Medicare taken away from them by the next generation, only then will they come to realize the circle of life.

Please Nos, this was supposed to be something positive. Throwing out names and demeaning people has not and will not promote anything. There are other threads for the rant.

The olive branch to find common ground was started by Tiger. (A west pilot by the way.) That ground could be as simply the next time you see a west or east pilot, why not shake his/her hand and buy'em a cup of coffee. Nothing more nothing less.

There has to be more than I win You Lose attitudes. Personally, I disagree with a lot of them, only not here. For once I would like to see a positive thread that is a building block toward friendships. Besides I haven't seen the signature lately. Have You? Change in attitude?

Ya know what? I did say that. And frankly it was meant to be condescending. I apologize. It was not the right foot to get started on... After having argued my point several times I realized that it had been reduced to name calling. I made it a point to stay off this board but an east pilot asked me to continue with my input. After having some great conversation with him I realized that we can get along. Even with our differences!!!! I am to blame for my ill-conceived statements. Don't knock an opportunity to get something going here...

I agree with Piedmont1984 100% and echoi his sentiments.

I believe until people like Junebug change their attitude this bitter fight between the two pilot groups will continue, possibly forever. The vast majority of the East pilots will never change their sentiment.

As Doug Parker recently indicated, "We are, however, very interested in having discussions with both groups present with a goal of reaching a joint contract. Please understand that I do not think a joint contract necessarily means immediate seniority integration. I have talked to enough US Airways pilots to know that such a proposal would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to get ratified. I happen to believe that if we could get everyone together at the negotiating table, we could work something out that meets everyone’s needs – though both sides would need to move some from their increasingly hardening positions. I am hopeful that the Rice Committee will facilitate some creative solutions and do so quickly."

Doug Parker understands that if the AWA MEC does not agree to both EC resolutions, or works with the Rice Committee, or does not reach an agreement with the US Airways MEC than a joint contract "would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to get ratified," as Parker indicated.

We all know about Junebugs posts. He and I go at it just like you do. But not on this thread. So please try to do something positive in here and meet your counterpart? I already know a pilot from out west who is a new PAPA. I just sent him a congratulations card. We disagree on a lot of things, but I can still accept him as my friend. Take the rhetoric elsewhere.

Got to respond to this one...Had an AWA pilot pos space from PHL-PHX. He gave up his seat to accomodate a PAX being split from her freind and left at the gate. This guy road in the cockpit with an East crew for 5 hours. They put the issue behind them for the PAX. What a great guy and hats off to the crew for making him comfortable.

US crews do that, literally, all the time PHL-LAX/SFO/SEA. So, what is the big deal?

My usual comment, "I'll take the jump' to get another onboard". We are talking 5/6 hours, depending and normally a segue into an 11 hour trip, for many. Pulease. That is normal where I commute from.

Why ever would you think that was something "special"?

and, no. I would not bid PHX, preferring working with underpaid people than troglodytes.

Anybody got some cool pictures of old Piedmont birds? Ya know personal photos when you were at work?

Any PSA or old US or old AWA?

I personally wish I took the time to take photos at work. It's a great way to look at this career. Cool old liveries, sunsets etc. I think it tends to focus more on the positives. Remember we all like flying airplanes....

My technique uses my olive branch. I bring it with me and tickle the underside of everyone's family jewelry.

A little awkward, but it breaks the ice.
