AFA COUNCIL 70 PHL UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR

Going out on a limb. "airportman" and "lovethesun"...same person, I'm guessing.....honestly-who cares. 🙄

I've called on the union twice in my career. The issues I had were resolved. I have no interest in working for the union.

I do volunteer, thanks for asking. I continue to look at the big picture. US is not my life. I work to live, not live to work. Big difference. 😉

Have a beef with the PHL office? Take your concerns to National. Let them take care of it. Period.

Now the ETB. Spend some "quality" time on it and you can find great trips. Start looking at the time of day b/h's post their trips. You will find a pattern. I'll leave it at that.

The only issue I have standing is the LTO. Block holders are worried about FCFS boarding priority?!? They reply, "senority is all we have left". Well, ladies and gentlemen, not if your a RSV trying to pick up trips....all you have, my friend, is the LTO.

Rant OFF

I just love how these "Newbie" posters show up out of the blue to post something, and then are never heard from again.

airportman/Lovethesun - or whatever you want to call yourself next...weren't you already told not to post Private Messages? Since airportman was the one who got the PM from the Reserve Chair, how would Lovethesun have access to the same message since it was deleted by the Moderators days ago? I think it's hilarious when one person conjures up new screen name identities to rally support for what has become a long, drawn out personal attack. GOTCHA!

I know for a FACT that the Reserve Chair works his butt off in that office 5 days a week when not flying, and would welcome anyone that cares to go to the office and assist. It's really easy to criticize from your keyboard, why don't you go offer your services airportman/Lovethesun?

Have to say you need to look at the message board again. Look at post #30 at the bottom. The statement is there!!!!!No I am not the same person as airportman so yes gotcha!!!!!!! Look up the catcrew screen. I have not seen where this started out as an attack on the reserve chair, tuna can man brought the reserve chairs name into this not airportman. Once the door was open then it is amazing what came to light.

Okay now Tuna Can Man (bit fishy) first you say you have only called the union twice in you career, then you state you have no interest in working for the union, then you state that you do volunteer. So which is it.
There you go folks, the union talking out of both sides again.

[ Go get them! Amazing what can be found by just looking.

I don't get this. So why don't you run for the office or at least stop by and see what they have to deal with day in and day out? I am sure it is NOT pretty. Constant phone calls, questions, problems, upset F/A's, termination meetings, etc.... I would think that the better deal would be to collect 73 like the rest of us and work the occasional ETB. Let 'em enjoy their ETB trips!!! Thank you AFA70 for all the hard work you do. Union work will always be a thankless job....expect little or no respect until one of these people find themselves desperate, on the final level of dependability. Then, the tables will turn... Geez....

NARROW MINDS......THE OTHER UNION OFFICES DEAL WITH ALL OF THE SAME STUFF AND YET HMM......MOST OF THIS ABUSE IS IN THE LOCAL 70 PHL

WELL WE WILL SEE WHEN AFA INTERNATIONAL INVESTIGATES

ABUSE.....UNETHICAL.....CORRUPT ARE BETTER ADJ FOR THE LOCAL 70

WELL I HATE THE SUN.....SO TUNA NOT THE SAME PERSON TRY AGAIN

Ouch...It may certainly be a conflict of interest or even a financial benefit if they are using there union pass to commute. But hell, come up the day before, work the office and sandwich your etb trip and its all legal and ethical.
BINGO! You now understand........certain people are manipulating their schedules under the auspices of doing union work and still "attempting" to be ON DUTY but somehow these great ETBs always drop into their lap! "I was born at NITE........not LAST NITE!"

It is more interesting than you put forth.

In order to gather the information on another employee, someone must have special access to the USAirways mainframe. In the process, they, both the poster and person accessing such information (could be the same) are in violation of Company policies and procedures that clearly will result in termination and/or legal action.

We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Your choice.

Uhh how many people a day look at the Reserve screens in CatCrew...I'd say a lot. so I guess it would be the hard way!!!

All I said was that according to CatCrew Someone does appear to be abusing the system...it's all there just go look. Then let's talk about violation of policies. Anything else you need to know feel free to PM me!

and, how would you know that they are "violating" the system unless you could actually see what they did from their own monthly schedule? Do you think day-to-day reserve screens give you the entire picture? Believe me, as an over-85 (pilot) thingy, you would be stupid, just from that, to even open your mouth in the belief you knew what was going on.

Someone posted someone elses schedule here. That, it would seem, might require an administrative response.

FYI. CATCREW assigns a value of 5+00 for each AFA day -- this is a change since the LTO RSV system was put in place (before RSV LTO, "AFA days" had no value). That time may or may not be actually paid by AFA. Flight Pay Loss (AFA paid time) is not reflected in CATS. Therefore, a flight attendant off schedule on AFA business for 5 days (25+00 in CATS) may only receive five or ten hours Flight Pay Loss for those days -- this will not be reflected in CATS (but will cause a RSV's LTO to go "through the roof").

I just want to point out that what we see in CATS does not accurately reflect what a F/A on AFA business actually sees in his or her paycheck.

Just my 2 cents.

(P.S. -- thank you to all the flight attendants, elected and vounteer, that make AFA work for us all)

Y'all just sit back and wait.
It sounds like someone with reason has started the ball rolling.
This is exactly what happened last year at West.
It didn't take long.
If the accusations have merit, something will be done.
If not, its sad that someone's reputation is being tarnished.

I volunteer with Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Not the union.

I do not wish to work for the union "in any capacity". (Is that more clear)???

BIG PICTURE!!! REMEMBER???

This forum is getting scary. It's amazing to me the amount of people with apparently nothing else going on in their life, but this damn airline......WOW...

Please use this "energy" and do something with it. The company's DO CREW is enlisting.... 🙂

Not exactly airportman. The only 3 people concerned with this thread seem to be Piney Bob, Pitbull and you.

Let's break it down:

Piney is obsessed with Pitbull, Pitbull is obsessed with PHL Council 70, what remains to be seen is why you are obsessed with the Reserve Chair. Care to explain?

The Reserve Chair is not an elected position; its appointed. Laura is lucky to have him. And I bet she feared him more because she is clue-less on reserve issues and needed his support. Her days are numbered as a rep in PHL, many f/as are counting down the days for the election in PHL to wip them out. If the Reserve Chair is working hard for the reserves, then he will have a good shot at an elected position.

Those two other knuckleheads are two peas in a pod and I will bet that if they don't get reelected to continue making that 170 hours a month International pay, THEY WILL RETIRE.

That's my prediction.

I
That would be using union time to surf the net for personal gain----didn't Perry Hayes do that a few years back and get thrown out of office ??? Only his wasn't for ETB trips.......

Here's the issue with that...they don't post to the members their monthly schedules in their E-lines or on the website. Soooo, they can make up any days and say they were working from their "HOME OFFICE". I have an issue with someone working from home when THERE IS A LOCAL OFFICE PAID BY UNION DUES PAYING MEMEBERS!!.

There is nothing to compell these folks to post their schedules monthly before the month starts on their website unless some member at a local meeting calls to make a motion to have the elected officers post their schedules. This is the only way you can track if they are being ethical and honest with the membership when they say they are working in the ofice.

There is no excuse for the LEC President she lives about 1 hour away from the office. If she couldn't make it to the office daily, she shouldn't have taken that position. And the LEC VP commutes from LAX (ex PSA) folks need to know how many days in the month she is working out of her house, and how many days she is in PHL, and is she taking trips 1 or 2 days after being in PHL.

The way I see it, how are they able to feel the struggles and lack of wages that the majority of reserves and lineholders do when they can climb to 170-180 hours a month??? And how can they fairly understand or represent YOUR best interest when they don't feel any financial pain that many many many f/as experience who can't get their first choice block?

These union reps are PPO and therefore don't hold a line. And they will tell you that they don't hold a line bacause they don't want to take the line from a lineholder...but that is a back door excuse to go on the ETB and max out hours.

Its easy to find out if any onf these folks are picking up trips from the bid sheet...I BET YOU EVERYTHING... THAT THEY HAVEN'T SINCE TAKING OFFICE.

Everyone must know that if they flew back some of the time by taking trips of the AIL (bid sheet) instead. But you won't see that because they can't go above 105 by taking from the bid sheet. They could give some of that 105 company flight pay loss to a volunteer to bring in the office so they can also help and learn. Why is it that 2 officers and an appointee are the only ones in that office as they claim? If they would pay some of the flight pay loss to other members to come in and help, they wouldn't complain about how much work there is. But, they don't have the help because f/as just can keep volunteering time when they have to fly. The LECP who distributes and is responsible for the fpl and dues $$ should distribute the flight pay loss by going on the bid sheet to pick up trips instead.

Here's the remedy...VOTE THEM OUT AT THE NEXT ELECTION. That is about 18 months away, but it will come and make sure the base votes this time.
