Is there a website where we can get all the votes, including write ins?

I have heard that Grace and Omar would sit at the reserve table as it is called and campain.

In Omar's case, this is true. I have seen her and her 100 or so cards spread out across the OPR table and listened to her as she answered questions about her relationship with crew scheduling and why she should be elected, etc.

This is against company policy, and, against campaining rules. Someone needs to tell JMC this, she can be thrown out if enough witnesses come forth and tell that she was 'illegally' campaining on company property.

OMG, the company is looking at this election and laughing all the way to the negotiations table....with the exception of John and Rick, the vp and sec/tres are NOT qualified.

The sad thing is in most local elections people will vote for their friends whether they are qualified and capable is irrevelant. They will also vote for the person that is shoving a postcard in their face because they don't know anyone running. You don't have to know anyone running to make an informed decision. If the company had a problem with it they should of put of stop to it that day. I highly doubt there is anything that can be done about it at this point. Of course, there is always the recall process.

I know someone who was in the PHL crew room the day she was doing this. He barely got through the door and she was in his face with her postcard and going on and on about her abilities. He told her I am not voting for you, she wanted to know why and who he was voting for. It wasn't a pretty conversation after that. He finally did tell her he wasn't based in PHL. However when he left he did find a postcard on his bag. (she had apparently put them on the crew bags as well).

Is this the same girl that is in an Inflight Standards Coach?

And you will always be a nasty bitter person. What's your next point of drivel? Isn't it cocktail time in ATL?

Law and order. What a concept! God I love this place. If Obama goes down, I'm writing in the moderators of USAviation come next November.

Yes, Omar is a union rep in PHL and also an inflight standards coach. Way to go AFA/CWA for allowing a union member to be both a union officer and a representative of management. Omar should be tossed out for illegal campainging and someone should call John Mc.

If you ask me, most F/A's don't look at the big picture, they look at who has the biggest mouth, and they say, "this person is smart". Who shouts the loudest isn't necessarily the smartest. She won, and she is in there and the company is looking at New York and saying "ha ha ha, look who they have in the union office, New York in PHL to stand up to us Harvard, U of P and Stanford Graduates!

You can find election results on afausairways.org

you can find who is an observation rider on the hub

Who would be the appropriate person to file a complaint? and why would they go to John Mc.? Would there not be a federal agency that would be more appropriate (read: less subject to manipulation)?

It is a conflict of interest to be both a union rep. and an inflight specialist. I was told that Mike Flores told Omar while she was council rep. that she needed to decide which position she wanted to hold. She told Mike she would not resign from either so AFA filed charges against her. The charges were pending until the election to see if there would even be a point of it since she may not win...WELL---she did and now I want to know what they are going to do about it.

In addition, I'd also like to know how our new secretary is going to handle having to call scheduling if she is needed to. Omar was banned from calling C/S on behalf of anyone else but herself. She almost got one F/A fired for calling in "fatigued" and had to have someone get her out of that mess. Don't get me wrong. Omar has a big heart and wants to do what's best for the membership---but she DOESN'T understand the contract as a whole and will get F/As into trouble giving bad advice---that's already been proven.

She has evergy and drive and needs someone to take her under their wing to explain how everything works. I've seen her in action at MEC meetings and she really does mean well but I was embarrassed for her. Now that she is the new Sec/Treas. someone is going to have to reign her in AND tell her to choose between product specialist or union rep.

Just My Opinion.

With all due respect Missthe727 while I TOTALLY agree with you I think it should be as it may. Reign her in? She was voted in by the limited percentage of the "membership" who voted. Now we must LIVE WITH IT. LIVE with the ineptitude. Take a second and think for a moment what the company must be thinking with their high priced and educated lawyers and negotiators. It's a crack up really. NOBODY wanted to vote and the few that did let their voices be heard. So I say, "Yo get whatchyo pay foe" in all it's glory. Actually....I love it.

CO's FAs CBA is one of the best in the industry, I was assigned to their negotiations several years back, by the way, they are represented by the IAM.

The amount of people that actually voted is a great disappoinment in my book but you're right---you do get what you pay for and the next time someone's moaning on the j/s I'm going to ask them who they voted for or if they even voted.
As far as Omar goes, JM now has to babysit her while he's trying to get as much Int'l ETB time as possible and collect his 108. Others here will rip me a new one for bringing that up and with all the AFA business being clumped together I don't have time to go back and read the whole thread to see if it has been brought up. However, the fact that he was voted in again means that the membership condones what he is doing. SO........JM's getting paid enough to deal with her if you ask me and from what I understand, they don't get along well at all.....It might be funny but it's also incredibly sad.
