I don't know about others but I am ready to get back to work under one Union, one Certificate, one Airline....which ever it will be.
The arguments and "venting" have become a normal pass time on this board for quite some time now. It has/is serving it's purpose for those who seek out that type of "discussion".

For those who have been reading the posts thinking that a quick solution would be the result of any of these conversations about the IAM and the IBT, they are mistaken.

The situation that involves the IAM and the IBT is in the hands of the NMB (National Mediation Board).

I would like to have it done and over with, but it won't happen any time soon.

Be patient...we all need to be. Ok....now this is open to what ever discussion someone wants to start or not.🙂

Why won't it happen any time soon?? Is there any new info?

Well if the IAM and IBT continue to file objections it will continue to delay the process. But better to get it right I suppose. Sucks being in limbo but like "Grasshopper" say..."good things come to those who wait".

its their legal right to file objections....and its in everyones best interests on both sides....shoulda,coulda,woulda without?? 😉

I believe IBT is trying to separate class and craft and IAM objected,
IAM asked for verification of card authenticty .
may be more....someone add??

so does any one have any idea when we get to vote and when we will inherit that substandard contract the IAM has, i preferr the higher pay, vacation, sick , why would i give a crap about scope when all that will do is bring back more senior people than me,then the company will layoff awa people saying its not due to the merger its fuel or our cost were higher than planed so all lower senior awa employees will be sacrificed, piss on IAM

Don't forget higher union dues also with the IBT. Scope also can be more benificial than some of the other bennies. Hopefully the transition agreement will even out a few of the IAM substandard benifits.

When, hopefully the NMB will rule this month so we can move on and if and when the IAM is the CBA I hope everyone will get on board and work together to make this a growing and efficient company.

Objections to elections?

Its in everyones best interests to not be able to vote?

What's wrong with Democracy?

I have not been impressed with either union to be honest with you. The IAM reps that I have encountered are nothing short of being thugs and the TWU reps I have been in contact with don't have a clue what a union is for or bout.

NMB has requested rationale from the IBT why the should be excluded and rationale from the IAM why the stock clerks should be included. Interesting that they are at least considering both sides, and not making a snap ruling based on "precedent".

Dude...SOP in the legal arena (precedent)

SOP? Dell, if they were following SOPs do you really believe it would take this long to come to a decision or that they would request the IBT and IAM to submit justification as to why the stock clerks should be retained or removed from the Mechanics and Related contract? Maybe I'm not following your intended line of logic here?

c'mon eric....look at how long it took for IAM to go through court over the bus farmout suit.
end of feb 06 was when these 😉 motions were started...and each NMB official has other cases on their desk...get in line.
