American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

This is where my concern has now drawn focus.

If you implement 40% on a Systemwide basis you can potentially design a Hub to be at least 3/4 PT knocking hundreds down in Status.

On the line you staff 1st AM shift as PT, Mid shift as FT, and 3rd shift back to PT on a gate and moved where needed.

We need to recognize in our mutual contracts what provides the economic incentives for the Company to want to staff PT Numbers over FT and mitigate those motivations.

Yes and no.

If you look at the scope, you see that most of that they want falls into certain categories. No other airline has it or the airline doesn't want to expand to other side.

yes, though the bottom line is we currently do it and anything less is a concession, atop the concessions aa has demanded - lus insurance, c/c and cs language, catering and PT ratios?

i believe we have an idea what aa's red line is and what is not 'negotiable'. to me, that's up to the assoc. to reconcile and get $$ back for the numerous concessions in an era of unprecedented profits. i'm with many in that there should be no concessions due to the recent company financials, but i'm also realistic in knowing that in today's capital x labor arena, it's impossible. bottom line, i believe some wheeling and dealing is necessary, but easy for me to say, since i don't benefit from lus insurance.

as far as your wage scenario, it's very close for me if we are 3% above united's upcoming dec. 2018 raise (ua to go to $31.23/hr).

that would take us to $32.17/hr on DOS, without differential and looks like TOS of $35.50/hr, without differential.

$32.17/hr in 1st year.
$32.97/hr
$33.79/hr
$34.63/hr
$35.50/hr in 5th year.

We are getting played with one of the oldest, and most effective labor strategies in history -- It's called "Divide and Conquer".

The Company is pitting the TWU/LAA and IAM/LUS workgroups against each other. Of course, there are posters right here that not only know this, but assist in perpetuating it...

what if the company foresaw this current stalemate and the perceived bickering between iam x twu and:

wanted to put iam at twu pay levels in 2014?
wanted to put iam on laa insurance in 2014?
wanted to put twu at iam at equal holiday pay levels and number of holiday levels?

would all of that saved the day for today's current negotiations?

looks like only the 1st thing occurred...so, did the company plot this or did the iam hoodwink the company?

Lots of members thinking the TWU is acting like a dog that just got neutered .Don't hear much from them at all. The Association has pretty much been written off as far as having ability to function as a unit. The company puts this stuff out and of course leaves out the negative aspects. This is quite the strange experience
Yep, it's almost like we are getting "***** slapped" twice. Where is the TWU in all this mess. Garcia playing golf with Sito? Of course Samuelson say's he doesn't want to get involved, he will monitor from afar. Peterson started out strong, even put Parker on "notice"...Oh well, I'm sure their forum spokesperson will clarify all soon. May even have a little entertainment to go along with it. You know, music, cartoons etc...does make it less boring.

The below video is a confession of an ex Union Buster, and I suggest that anyone that is serious about their future watch it. Ograc post's are 100% spot on regarding the Company strategically attempting to circumvent our leadership, and divide us!

>SPIT<

Oops, the Association beat them to it!

They also make noise from their caves trying to get your attention.

You know AANOTOK, you can't have a decent feeling about how the TWU has pulled a virtual vanishing act while many of their members are totally irate. You almost have to ask yourself, is the TWU participating or just observing? The smack talk I'm hearing on the ramp has grown exponentially the last few weeks. Much of it caused by the company tactics, but frankly the TWU has done nothing to reassure membership. Maybe the TWU is too comfortable in the Association.

You’re right. Where the hell is everyboby? I mean it took almost 12 whole damn hours for the TWU and IAM to issue their joint response through an Association letter. Those BASTARDS.

Not to mention also all those guys that flew in from all over the Country to grill Parker and Isom at the DFW SOTA Townhall.

Funny thing is Talos, the TWU chair the Association right now, but Sito seems to be calling all the shots. So yes, it appears Garcia and boys are real comfortable with the Association.

Are we being trolled? I did see a pic of trolls in caves, I think.

Can someone, anyone, anywhere show me anything at all “In Writing” as verifiable proof that this guy Sito (The Boogeyman) is calling all the shots and Alex Garcia and peeps have ran off to go Bird spotting?

Not to knock the IAM as to particularly why but the only pressure I’ve seen being put on the Company has been coming pretty much exclusively (spending money) from the TWU.

But I would suspect that the issues that most affect the IAM members at this moment such as the Medical, Catering and the IAMPF would be given more into the hands of Brother Pantoja to decide over Brother Garcia as it should?

I’ve said this before Piedmont and I’ll say it again. I don’t think the Company Census takers count most if anyone who posts here? The AA threads have a max of around a dozen regular posters and only a tiny fraction of that number have even come out with who they are publicly.

It’s become basically nothing more than a place where a few ghosts can throw rocks from behind trees to I guess make them feel better about themselves or something? And a place to pass a little bit of the boredom of the day.

The Forums you remember from years ago is Dead. But man was it good back in its day (Before people left for Facebook)

Can anybody tell me the date we sat down and negotiations officially started?
Full negotiating committees sat with Company on 12/03/15.. presented company with comprehensive proposal.
First actual negotiating session started 01/11/16
