Oh no no no. Being who you are and holding the position you hold I would like to know what your position is on that issue of the possibility with language like that being inserted ALL of MIA could be made Part Time. It’s not an impossibility.
Your opinions carry much weight among some people and they expect to hear from you rather than you remaining in the shadows hiding again behind a Politically prudent maneuver.
Our concern with being overridden by PT stems from other language, like the OT, which has been used to limit PT in MIA.
When that concern was voiced your reponse was: "The OT issue was a very acceptable compromise considering the two contracts were so vastly different from one another. Yes PT Members on the TWU side will now be able to enjoy a small measure of OT taken from the FT Member but it will still be based on whoever has the lowest hours of those who signed up..."
As the current language stands, without the OT restriction and other language they can go to over 40% PT in MIA today.
I'm sure the Executive Committee would look to lower that number, if they could.
