do you believe kerry and david? remember, they started their video soliloquy with, "we listened to you and here's the new and improved...".

i'm convinced our people have let the company know that 40% of all fleet is unacceptable.

as far as the rest, agreed. the company 'must-haves' have to have a price. we've talked about that.

No I don’t believe any “Company Management” talking (or squawking) heads. You and I have both worked for these Corporations long enough to know they’re ultimately not to be trusted. We’re not on their list of Fiduciary responsibilities.

I think if any of those supposed “must haves” want to be purchased on the cheap, I’d just pack up the yard sale sign and put it back up again some other Weekend.

That particular “must have” is an old Family Heirloom and an Antique.

I cannot speak for the people above the wing, but as a ramp agent I have worked plenty of back-to-back full-time shifts which with the lunch totaled to 17 hours on consecutive days. Also this was an open-secret "work around" to work up to 4 straight days of doubles using the end of the week and the beginning of the week trick. For example, double Sat and Sun, which ends the week, then work double Mon and Tues for beginning of week.

Ironically, as another poster mentioned, we cannot typically work more than two consecutive full-time doubles due to safety concerns unless Management requests coverage-- so much for the culture of safety.

I cannot speak for what the new policy will be. I am NOT doubting you do back to back doubles now. But can you not read what we are being told the new policy will be? Does this sound like we will be able to do back to back doubles if this is the new policy?

"Can only work 14 hours on consecutive days excluding meal periods."

gulfcoast, you sound like cs wheeler & dealer. in my station in the desired work areas, the new hires don't seek out CSs, they are told where to work and given CSs by a few F/Ters who have mastered the aa cs matrix.

the cs policy means nothing to me, i hope it doesn't harm you financially nor alter your quality of work life, when this new policy goes into effect.

I am absolutely not someone who does or depends on a lot of CS's. I am someone who likes flexible work policies and fewer restrictions. There are a lot of people in my station who do depend on CS's. I have had things come up at the last minute as I think most of us have. Having to get approval for last minute CS's, trades or swaps, whatever you want to call them is dumb. If 4 hours notice is working now in stations with thousands of employees, why change it?

I am against anything that makes things harder to do. If these are the proposed changes I am against them. Four hours is plenty of notice. Back to back doubles should be allowed for those who want to do them -- not me.

And for sure they need to spell out the overlap policy in writing so it is not administered at the whim of the company or caried by station.

Is your wage rates also a Company policy?

don't worry...just do what 95% of the lazy scammers do, suck up to mngt., always back slap them...and when you need a last-minute cs approved, it will be approved.

those that mind their own business will pay the price of 24 hr. cs notice.

Which is one reason why this policy sucks if this is what the new policy will be. It is not a high cost item but will be a high frustration item and should be changed.

If they put it in writing in our Contract it’s no longer called a policy. It’s now called Legal and enforceable language.

I am surprised by your response. It sounds like something that might have come from your friend NYer.

Thanks for the links but I am good. Your time would have been better spent looking up the word "may" in the dictionary.

Does this sound like the overlap policy is spelled out in writing? To me it sounds like the company "may" or "may" not approve overlaps.

The asterisks were added by John John in his post a couple pages back. It sounds like he gets it that we need to know in advance what will and will not be approved.

"30 minute overlay ***MAY*** be approved"

Until I read what they agreed to in contractual language I’m not going to say what it’s going to be for a fact? But utilizing the word “may” does leave an open question and I don’t like open questions in my Employment agreements.

Ambiguity.

I agree which is why I am posting here so that maybe CB or Prez can remove some of the ambiguity. The overlap policy should be spelled out and not open to interpretation. That would make it better, but I don't like losing flexibility at all even though I don't do a lot of Cs's atm.
