American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

If the adjustments are not near what most expect why would the NC bring it out?

You IAM folk are just ghastly meanies. I’m wallowing in poverty over here while you eat cake. I’m barely surviving on that $69,000 in wages and 401k contributions I made last year. Meanwhile I can sense you laughing at me as you’re getting that extra 1 or 2 grand while I can’t even afford the cup to put my Ramen Noodles in.

If the city starts charging us for hot water I’m going to starve man.

If it's a last offer the pressure for the Association mounts as going into Section 6 adds months or years to the process and the airline can systematically pull back from their current positions, the NMB could freeze us while other airlines pass us by in wages and the frustration levels rise which can make getting a worse deal possible.

The Association can come back with a TA and have a no recommendation saying if the TA is defeated it helps us in Section 6, which could be true.
Nyer all I can say is if you guys get to Section 6 without a vote , and the company has their must haves, you're in for a long ride like we were. Especially if you get to mediation. However I doubt you would go 6 years to produce a T/A.

Don't worry..like the TWU said " a loaf of bread costs the same in Tulsa as NY......TWU....cracks me up typing it...

Anyone stupid enough to vote IBT deserves all the chit sandwiches they get. IBT?? Lmao

Unfortunately rat we may have at least two field testers for the IBT on the boards now. This is coming close to that moment where they may sense a vulnerability and try to make a strike?

So again it all comes back to something I’ve said many times before regarding compromise. If the worst case scenario on the Medical being that the NMB believes the Association should move in the direction of the Company and give some ground because the Company gave ground on other items, there we stand once again back in the middle don’t we.

We TWU pay 21% of the Total “projected” cost with no Caps and
IAM pays 14% of the Total cost on I believe they’re best plan (Not sure if they have Caps)

Solution towards the Middle 18% with Caps for the life of the Contract.

And that satisfies your NMB terms without either side being rigid.

Coming back to this I was updated on the percentage that the IAM Members pay the Company for Medical.

80% Employee pays 7%

90%. Employee pays 14%

100%. Employee pays 19.4%

Lol...not even close...the only union I wanna see here is AMFA...Maintenance craft and class...just tired of the TWU and their so called fight, in our best interest, protecting us...bs...enough...it's almost like a bad sitcom...what a joke..lmfao...

So your main purpose I guess is to be antagonistic to both myself and the IAM since you still cannot provide any documentation or video where this “must have” comment was made.

Perhaps you might want to ask to be invited to this page where you can attempt to sell your “must have” ideology on those Members?

You calling someone else antagonistic is simply laughable.

There's lots of documentation on that one.

They have a position where they're willing to go. They're not going to get there at the first proposal, they'll work themselves to that point

When they invited the Mediator to their talks it was dismissed by most but was it a sign for the Company to start working on the NMB in trying to show they're more willing to bend than the Association? I think so.

Fast forward, the airline passed a comprehensive proposal in July, they added to it in March, again in May and they'll probably add the final pieces in June. None of those adjustments are anywhere near what most expect.

To me, there's a 50/50 shot we have a vote on something before Section 6 and for that to happen the IAM has to agree.

ok, so what were the constants that the company never enhanced/budged on for each public proposal? lus insurance and catering.

and, profit sharing?

ok, add the lus insurance and some scope and tell me if it adds up to the potential of the company paying hundreds of millions per year in profit sharing and/or, the possibility of aa working regionals in hubs?

my personal feeling is that the company is close with wages/401k, bit further off on scope...though i feel the lavs part is ridiculous and the company will relent. the laa guys i know are more than ok with the wages, i'm the one who wants too much ($32.50/hr without differential on DOS, TOS of $36/hr without differential).

hopefully, the company will further sweeten their public and private proposal.

for a vote, it's not my opinion or an lus agent's opinion. weaasles talks about an insurance compromise. what if there is no insurance compromise. will the iam part of the assoc. allow this to come to a vote?

you say it's 50-50? i'd say if the iam assoc. big-shooters are confident that they can sell to their rank & file the trade-off of the insurance for the money, then we'll get a vote.

if not, laa will grumble that they (lus iam) went from $20/hr to potentially all of us at TOS $35.50/hr, but due to the insurance issue, we're stuck in the mud and could possibly lose more.

AMFA worked out real well at NWA. Maybe we can elect AMFA and have a replay of 2005 at the New AAL.

My serious suggestion is to start a Facebook Group page and advertise it to both LAA and LUS Members. Once the page is up and you have a baseline going start your sales pitch.

You can also use Vistaprint and make up cards to send to Stations maybe advertising your Group page?

After 53 years of trying at AA you have to assume that it will happen someday right?

It's a pipe dream to believe that we can get ANY DIFFERENT REPRESENTATION at the NEW AAL. LAA TWU members are afraid to change and the LUS IAM REJECTED Change in 2013 during an NMB Election.

We are doomed to finish our careers with :

The ASSociation.
