American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

We have a complacent membership. The card drive has stalled. The guys who are leaders have given up due to the pathetic members we have. Most in their 50's they just want another 5 to 6 years and they are out.
Thia ASSociation is being led by an IAM guy and a TWU guy that could give two craps about the members.If they stay in office at least 5 years they become vested in the union retirement pension which is not frozen. Our dues money keep it going for them and the previous so called leaders that put us in this ASSociation.
THE MECHANICS ARE BEING HELD HOSTAGE BY A GROUP OF WORKERS THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAD THE ABILITY TO STAY ON THE JOB SO LONG. BAG SMASHERS(FLEET SERVICE) WAS NEVER SUPPOSE TO BE A LONG TERM JOB.IT WAS A PART TIME FILL IN FOR STUDENTS.

i support that amp drive but i think they need to wait till these liars bring out a bs contract or wait a couple more years until the mx go hungry. The last offer will be the best as things will start being removed with the company bringing in industry low margins now.

The company didnt defer planes to put more on the table like weez suggested.
 
Tim, I still praise the guys for getting out there and answering questions and better updating the members than the lousy job the asso. has done on their website updates. No one can help rather it's good or bad news, it is what it is, and/or whatever the co. is offering. Not sure exactly where this long pause in nego's is going but it would be a good time to get the membership fully caught up on all the details while they can, but they won't, even CB and P.Res are not telling all the details. They seem to be held back from disclosing by the higher ups, just don't know who.
i have a problem with it since CB is lying by not disclosing the truth and other information he refuses to answer or share.
His traveling show is a working class hero speech. He is either intellectualy dishonest or just has half the info from sito.

The negotiation committee has not seen the company offers yet. Did you know that?

No I did not know this. Why hasn't the NC seen the offer? What is your opinion on the info being held from the membership Tim?

If what you are saying is true and the only way it would be true is if you were receiving information from the Company or Ford and Harrison then as they have in the past the Company has full liberty to divulge this supposed “Last Offer” you say exists.

“Mr” Nelson explain to the readers why the Company has not put out their Final Offers if the Executive Negotiators are holding them hostage from our view?

Past History shows the Company will readily and quite happily post their offers to us publicly without trepidation.

I believe in democracy and informed consent. Moving into section 6, without a vote, is a breach of my views on the matter. From my perspective, I have a pretty cushy bid line which I may not be able to hold if we merge, so I don't mind kicking the can. I'm uncomfortable with the pension of course, but I've been having to put in my own money into the 401k just for balance. I won't have to do that with the company offer but then I'd have to pay $50 more for health insurance. I don't have any dependents and I pretty much travel every 2 weeks in casual living as I doubt I'll even retire anyways. I've told all of my coworkers for years that I love my job and retired when I filled out my application. However, the injustices caused by the union and the money lost by our members due to the union is a complete disaster. And I can not, nor will not, stand by watching these corporate whores like CB who make $150,000+ with 4 different retirement plans drag things into section 6 without a vote by members. This union, including CB has had big reservations about the masses voting on things. We didn't vote for this association, the association made sure none of us had rights when it crafted its constitution. Yes, ZERO RIGHTS and none of us are members of it. And I'm sick and tired of all of the madness so I resigned my membership in this miserable I'll Ask Management and will be mobilizing a dues objector campaign this week due to the thorough lack of democracy and consent. All CB will do is talk, that's all he does. He isn't even on the negotiation executive team and is only speaking 2nd hand.

I've told people for 4 weeks now that the company included all current scope for all 40 stations. You and others ridiculed me. Now you find out I was telling the truth when the union admitted it last week.

Not sure why you are not pleased when the Executive negotiation team was.

You don’t talk to any of the (UNION) Executive Negotiators. If you did you would at least know who some of them are.

Actually Racer the last time “Mr” Nelson made up a fake proposal from his own head I took it and ran with it as a goof to see what would happen.

Unexpectedly the unintended consequence was the Company responded to it on Jetnet/Workbrain to clarify that the whole thing was a bunch of BS.

If “Mr” Nelson makes up something again I won’t be taking the ball and running with it out of “curiosity” again.

In that instance curiosity actually did kill the Cat.

BTW with his 770 to 20 loss being DOL certified, his choice to become a dues objector and his 2 to 1 poll result to be thrown off another Group page, any influence he had left is pretty much neutralized now.

We of course have no choice but to entertain him here though. (Pretty much in the dessert)
 
Amazing all this talk, speculation, assuming and guessing only because no solid information is coming from the Association. Only bits and pieces from one group and not the others. It's so dysfunctional that many can't even see it if it smacked them in the face. Section 6, last offer, IAM pension, IAM medical, 401k% and so on. Are we any closer to a JCBA than we were a year ago? It's like the Association is negotiating a contract for American, United, Southwest and Alaska Airlines all at once. The association with its greed can not fairly represent it's members because it's too many groups to focus on. The fiancial greed of the unions has simply screwed over the real meaning of a union and negotiations.

1AA I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Early on you did have AMT Negotiators that were coming to the AMT Negotiations thread. But yourself and others ran them off because you didn’t like what they were telling you.

And they decided to never come back.

As far as FALSE information being put out there thank God our Negotiators aren’t stupid enough to be chasing after everything. Could the “Official” Association updates be better? ABSOLUTELY. But I also believe no matter what they put out people like you aren’t going to believe them anyway.

Your agenda will ALWAYS be to “Rid yourself of the Association” so your Agenda will ALWAYS come first.

And we’re A LOT closer to a JCBA then we were last year. 365 days closer.

Time and time again dont worry about fleet be more concerned about Mexico and Salvador etc
