...that's what the company said...

>SPIT<

The Company has NOT stated anywhere publicly that they have extended any last offer and would not even be able to do so until the NMB Mediators are present with them to make that official.

Yes it sucks. But now that we are headed to mediation which really means nothing because nothing can be forced on us. We may be looking at another 1, 2, 3 maybe more years of talks that go nowhere while paying the higher medical premiums which increase year after year.

So we either hold out until they capitulate on medical and/or scope for a few more years and maybe wind up in arbitration or whatever the railway labor act determines where we wind up or WE capitulate on the medical and/or scope. Arbitration can go against us also.
We truly are not in a good position.

Yes, our medical costs are high, but we can be paying them for years to come regardless. And we will be having this same discussion while living under the same contracts, we under our TWU contract and the IAM under theirs for years to come.
This is not a good position to be in.
I do not see the company moving on the medical which will increase their costs substantially even though they are making the profits.
I hope I am wrong, but I just don't see it happening.
What does substantially mean?
The company already stated that the medical would cost them another 24 million a year.
The total for all 30,000 fleet and Mtc and related
Is 39 million a year.
The cost for the LUS plan costs then 15 million right now.
An additional 24mil a yr to this company with these profits is minuscule.

Racer are you saying that the total cost of extending the Medical that you currently enjoy out to all Association (TWU) Members would only be an added $24 Million per year?

What is the $39 Million? Is that a total that the Company would anticipate paying out in Medical costs if we had a more preferred cost or is that what they lay out currently?

The Company knows that they’re Medical Plan offerings are not a prize currently. Trying to sell it online that the Plan offerings are “Competitive” is extremely laughable.

I haven’t found one blue collar person yet who’s jumped up and down and become excited over the “Competitive” selling point.

well then they should put it out for a vote so the members can vote "No" and show the company what we think of the last best contract offer. Whats the fuss?

Why vote on a “final offer”, which there isn’t one while not in bankruptcy nor a 30 day cooling off period?

Where is the offer someone was going to post?

“Mr” Nelson there has been no “LAST” offer. There has been no last “BEST” offer. And there has been no last best “FINAL” offer.

If there had been ANY of those I’m again confident that the Company would have conveyed that message to us quite clearly using their controlled Computer systems.

And you also gave up your right to vote so you really should stop disturbing us who will be making the decisions for you.

That's not the cost to the Company. If the mechanics and fleet get their own Insurance eventually all 120,000 employees would end up on that plan.

Forgot to add. And you know just how bad our Medical sucks when even the best thing the Company can say about it is that it’s “Competitive” and you get one free Wart removal treatment each year.

No skin tags. Those you have to pay for yourself.

Competitive is just a euphemism for “everyone else’s insurance sucks, and now yours will as well.”

Tbh, the presentation you linked to looks almost identical the negative we get, right done to the fonts and page layouts. Only positive I took out of that is that AA at least posts what percentage of plan costs are employee borne.

This again is a factually inaccurate comment that has been rebuked multiple times already.

It did not happen for many years at USAIRWAYS when the plans first came into existence and there is no reason to assume any difference today at AA.

Besides those other Represented Employee Groups have their own Unions who will Negotiate for them when their time comes up. It’s not the job of the Association to concern themselves with what others might or might not want to shoot for off of what we’ve secured.

No Bingo. And we seem to have many people on these Forums pages worrying about how the Company can adjust over a particular situation rather than worrying about their own instead.

Have you paid attention to the new rates I posted? Do you find an 11.9% increase for the Family Value plan to be reasonable to any of us much less trying to thrust that cost on people who contractually today DON’T have to be saddled with it?
