Not defending or sticking up for the guy. Some things out there said about him may even be at least partially true for all I know. I just don’t think he’s the Antichrist or Rosemary’s Baby is all. (Plus Sito is not the Association Chairperson currently)

Hearing someone’s voice and how they interact gauges the sincerity of the person on the other end and is the only way to actually make a FRIEND if someone is interested in that sort of thing.

If your City (Station) can’t generate the revenue to support the wages you’re asking for you absolutely shouldn’t ask or expect other Cities (Stations) that can, to carry the burden for “your” convenience.

If you knew anything about the commercial aspects of this industry you would know smaller stations that have less competitive capacity tend to be higher yielding (meaning on a seat mike basis more revenue is generated). Somewhere like Kev’s station doesn’t have WN, and has AA/DL/UA can price some very lucrative one-stop itineraries through their respective hubs. Don’t believe me? Scott Kirby has even said this much as it relates to growing smaller and regional markets from UAs ORD & DEN hubs.

So while a BOS, DFW, MIA, etc earns significantly more revenue, the quality of the revenue in a market like MSN or BDL is better. MIA has tons of competition particularly on the international front.

But “put a little cash in the members’ pockets,” and call it good. Take the safe road. And why not? They’ll never feel the pain. Besides, there’s always people that think people in the Line Stations should be paid less. Heck, we have one right here on this thread.

I do appreciate the guy up in MSP who got fired, forget his name, but I see he is still plugging away. The threat of being union has benefitted all of us, not just you. I appreciate you guys keeping that edge and I think you guys will be ok unless you actually do organize. Although ATL, and maybe NY and a west coast hub may come out better, minus cargo of course.

Hedges is retired, and McCurdy is in a hub. Both are great men, and have taken plenty of heat, but being an activist in a line station (and there are many across the system) makes everything magnified.

You’ve never worked in one, so I can understand why you might not be able to relate to that.

P.S. We could really use some help at FLL. It’d be great to have some OAL support there.
