American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

How can you say both sides are dug in deep when the Company already moved off their first online supposal just 2 weeks ago?

Forcing a vote? How?

The Company is trying to apply pressure absolutely. But being 100% honest I’m not seeing them gain much traction. I’m sure you read the Comments on Jetnet/ Workbrain and there hasn’t been any uproars on Facebook anywhere either. Minor squabbling sure.

Am I missing something somewhere Al?
I believe NYers scenario where the pie is sweetened again with more money UAL+3% less job cuts maybe my pension back causing an uproar forcing a vote. But the medical no movement dug in firmly. In this scenario the contract will pass.As far as dug in I was referring to IAM medical

The Company is loving the division between the IAM and TWU represented work groups and is LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK Every Week that we don't have a JCBA.

The Association: Go ahead and be GREEDY and see how much we will really lose in SECTION 6 negotiations as compared to what is on the table right now.

The pilots will be starting their Section 6 within the next 12 months and when this happens The Association will be kicked to the Curb. The company won't give us the time of DAY because All the focus will be on the Pilots.

I think we could very well be far more “dug in” on the Company wanting Maintenance jobs and remaining committed to Solidarity among all the workgroups. I think the issues in Fleet can be easily solved over afternoon Tea.

Sounds like Weazz ramp will be done, way before maintenance.

Mike this sounds like us last year. Well guess what we finally got an AIP April 10 th, 2018.-But guess what we still don't have a T/A to look at. Last week we were told, should be this week. Now we are hearing rumors that the company doesn't just want to hand over 91 million dollars to the union if we get a T/A voted in. The Union still has not presented the distribution formula. So we wait.
The union will never publish the formula, so no need to wait, just enjoy the money.

I did say could. My guess would be even if they could grab a deal from the Airline though we won’t know about it until Maintenance is ready to join us. And that’s with or without the NMB being involved.

Without a doubt and if that's the case they should be allowed to decide their own fate.
I cant see any of the rank and file saying yeah I want to wait for MTC or MTC folks caring either way

Right. We each have separate books and while it may benefit to go along together with some flow through items we're at a point where most of the outstanding issues aren't flow.

There is no division between the IAM and TWU. The IAM is running the show, calling the shots. The TWU is just along for the ride. When the IAM is ready to vote, then we vote, if not, section 6 will show us all what a waste this Association was and how it cost the TWU.

Maybe just the Weez

To be honest.

Probably on the Medical issue it’s the IAM calling the main shots. On the Maintenance outsourcing issue that’s the TWU.

And maybe you really believe otherwise but take all those pesky Unions out of our GRUNT work and no way do we get anywhere close to what we’re making today.

I agree, but I don't want any T.A. to be a continuation and expansion in the practice of contracting outstations leaving only the mythical Cheshire Cat's smile in the end.
