What's new

AMFA files for single carrier status for Alaska/Hawaiian merger

Its not true because he says so, its true because its what actually happened.

The TWU/IAM promised their members a vote, then rant to the NMB and asked for the exact opposite.
They all know it happened this way. They are just too embarrassed and not willing to admit I was right from the very get go. There are posts on these forums of many twu/iam members actually reaching out to me to tell me I was right all along and that the new asso. was lying to them the entire time. I even had 2-3 twu AA mechs chime in that also called the NMB and was told the exact same thing. The problem was, they waited too long to get involved after I urged them to to it at the very beginning. They just kept believing the asso until I posted the NMB responses and that's when some started calling them themselves and got the same info as I did.
After all this crap came to light is when AMFA started taking off through-out the airline industry up to and including to currently still growing in the airline mechanic ranks. That issue at AA really started opening a lot of peoples eyes and minds about how crooked the industrial unions are. I also believe this started the new talks and rumors about getting AMFA back in at United as well. Is that correct TSH? I believe that was the same time frame, but not positive. Too much was going on within AMFA at that time to remember it all.

You can’t remember it all because you’re a glorified nit wit. That’s the real story.

Update from the IAM on this topic. Been awhile since we heard anything substantial.

AMFA and the IAM will duke it out officially in a steel cage match.

Again you/IAM report false information, so therefore I am posting the NMB's report, response and official notification of a vote coming only after AMFA filed for the single carrier status, where the IAM is the ones stalling and purposely trying to delay and drag it out. And as noted that the IAM is the ones that are stalling with a request to push off such vote until Dec 2nd. So here follows the real story from the horses mouth themselves, as well as from AMFA National following: Weez do better than to listen to the IAM, you freakin know better...

AMFA's release along with official notice from the NMB:

November 20, 2025
The National Mediation Board (NMB) has officially authorized a representation election to determine who will represent the combined Mechanics & Related craft/class at Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines – AMFA or IAM.
Here is what we know:
  • Eligibility cut-off date is May 9, 2025
  • Election will be conducted by mail-ballot
  • Tally will take place in Washington, DC
  • The Company must provide the NMB with mailing labels by November 25th for employees on the List of Potential Eligible Voters
AMFA will continue to provide you with the latest updates as they become available. Given the timing of this notice and the request for labels in 5 calendar days, it is possible that the ballots could be issued in the first two weeks of December.
A vote for AMFA is a vote for the strongest, most democratic, and truly independent representation in the industry. When every mechanic at the new Alaska/Hawaiian stands united under AMFA, we’ll have the power to negotiate the contract we all deserve — better pay, stronger job protections, and respect for the job we deserve.
Stay tuned for further details regarding the election schedule, procedures, and voting instructions. In the meantime, talk to your Union representatives and your fellow co-workers to make sure everyone understands what’s at stake.
In solidarity,
AMFA NEC

Hey dumbass. Yes now you pushed me towards it again.

I said that there was going to be a VOTE 🗳️ and you just parroted me that there’s going to be a VOTE 🗳️

AMFA hasn’t won **** yet and neither has the IAM.

When the “””MEMBERS ALL””” have their say that’s when the decision has been decided. NOT with what AMFA or the IAM want.

No you are the dumbass. Read moron. I posted that there will be a vote a long freakin time ago, follow the threads. The false part is where AMFA is being accused of a delay by AMFA. There is no delay, they are simply using the next step in the process and contesting where the IAM/NMB is claiming to leave out certain positions and or "related". Part of the process chief, not any added delays by AMFA at all.

Also I never said AMFA won, or that it is over. I simply said that it took AMFA and only AMFA to file to get a single carrier status awarded in order to get the next step approved of awarding the election to start. Where in F is the IAM in this process Weez? No where, because they are scared to death of yet another defeat in an AMFA election.

AND BTW, there are many more steps in the process long before an election will actually get kicked off. Steps required by AMFA, IAM as well as the company.

Your last para needs no comment as I have always said that once the members get their say so it will always be what the majority of the members want which is how AMFA runs not the industrial IAM union.

You need to start reading and better comprehension. I was simply correcting the false comment in the IAM letter that said AMFA was "causing" a delay by contesting Cleaners and Line Service Members which is their right by the rules and regs, NOT a cause of a long delay as the IAM wants it's members to think as to put blame onto AMFA, they are simply following the process. Which you should know already but clearly do not as shown by postings.
