AMFA files for single carrier status for Alaska/Hawaiian merger

AMFA hasn’t added or brought in jack ****. Southwest Airlines “”””Management”””” brought in any and all extra work outside of what they are contractually required to. Period!!!!!

AMFA couldn’t bring in a wet napkin outside of what’s in their Contracts.
Wrong again there skippy!!! Most all the airline mechanics knows about the maint lines and maint work AMFA has nego and able to get work back in house (after the teamsters allowed it to go away) as well as the added lines of maint and added in house work to the back shops too. Now, yes SWA management has brought in some work too, but so has AMFA after careful successful nego's. Again as noted before AMFA has brought in more work, added more lines of maint and added more headcount than any other mechanics union at SWA, period, and the numbers after AMFA came in to represent, easily proves this.
Not going to waste my time to watch any video that the IAM puts out about AMFA as they are all lies and made up BS as always. Now sit back and watch how AMFA will prevail in the vote at Alaska/Hawaii.

AMFA legislative and membership meetings take place at local Dunkin Donuts 🍩 locations. All members receive a coupon for 10% off a large iced coffee at participating locations.

Again weezy, not going to entertain ANY of your posted BS videos. Get a clue dude. No one believes anything you post as it is all made up and misinformation. Pls carry on with your agenda skippy...

I think I most certainly will carry on. The TRUTH needs to be told.

Just a quick reminder how AMFA can step it up WITHOUT a mediator present for the last 3 sessions and get their members an AIP just before the holidays. Look forward to all the improved language and wages for our fellow mechanics at Sun Country:-

And of course we cannot leave out the newest CBA agreement nego with AMFA @ Jazz. With substantial increases in all areas and becoming the newest bar/bench mark for the aviation professionals in Canada. AMFA has now brought just under a dozen newly nego CBA's with record improvements in all areas. Note the amount of pay increase % and future % over the years of the contract. Just another great reason to have AMFA, a Mechanics Class and Craft Union representing the Mechanics and Related at Alaska/Hawaiian combined airlines. And again, just before the holidays...

MISSISSAUGA, ON – December 11, 2025 – The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) announced today that its members at Jazz Aviation—both Line Technical Services (Jazz Line) and Jazz Technical Services (JTS)—have ratified new five-year collective bargaining agreements. Nearly 90% of eligible members voted, with strong approval across both groups.

“These agreements reflect the commitment of our negotiating teams and the strength of our members throughout months of aggressive bargaining,” said AMFA National President Bret Oestreich. “Our skilled aviation professionals stood together, and these results speak for themselves.”

Oestreich noted that the contracts deliver double-digit wage gains, strong scope protections, and work rules that respect the knowledge and dedication of AMFA-Jazz members, positioning Jazz Aviation as a leader among Canadian carriers.

Key improvements include:

  • Immediate wage increases of 19–40%, retroactive to Nov. 1, 2025
  • Average wage progression of 63% over five years
  • Annual scale increases of 3.25% (Years 2–3) and 3.5% (Years 4–5)
  • Elimination of pension disparities; company contributions now 6–8%
  • Industry-leading night shift premium with cash-bank conversion
  • Enhanced field assignment and travel pay; double time for forced assignments
  • Removal of all two-tier wage and benefit DOR references
  • Improved vacation structure
  • Reinstated Stat Bank conversion; double time for Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day
These agreements set a new benchmark for compensation and work-life balance in the Canadian airline industry. AMFA remains committed to raising standards and delivering contracts that reflect the vital work of the aviation professionals who keep Canada’s air system safe and reliable.

Since it has NOTHING to do with you weezy, here's some more great news about the merger: And remember, AMFA doesn't knock as the IAM is now, AMFA delivers...

The Process to Determine Union Representation: Where We Are Now

The following is the process to determine union representation for employees in the same craft or class under the Railway Labor Act (RLA) when two airlines merge. The process is overseen by the National Mediation Board (NMB), which ensures a single bargaining representative for the combined workforce post-merger. Unions themselves don’t merge like companies; instead, employees vote on representation, and the winning union (if any) integrates the groups. Right: is a step-by-step breakdown, including key NMB decisions.

AMFA Values you

With the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA), you’re not just a dues-paying Member—you’re the driving force behind every decision, negotiation and policy. AMFA is built on the foundation of inclusion, availability, and accountability—with real democratic power in the hands of the membership who keep aircraft flying: YOU.

This is why Members say that AMFA Delivers.

Your Union, Your Voice

At AMFA, members shape the future. Every Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), every Letter of Agreement, and every change to local bylaws or our national constitution begins with Member proposals – and ends only when Members vote.

We don’t negotiate behind closed doors. We invite Members to attend negotiations at several airlines because transparency and trust are core to how we operate.

Real representation by real technicians.

Every Union rep—from your Local to the National Executive Council—is elected directly by the Members and comes from your craft or class. They’ve worked the same line, turned the same wrenches, and face the same challenges you do. You don’t just join AMFA—your decisions help lead it.

Availability: We’re On the Floor With You

Union reps that work where you work.

AMFA Local representatives are elected every two years from the same ranks you work in. They’re not distant names—they’re professionals on the floor, available, accessible and responsive. Need support? You won’t have to go looking for someone in a suit behind a closed office door. You’ll see your reps often, hear from them regularly, and get answers when you need them. This is representation that shows up—on the line and in the fight.

Accountability: Power That Reports to You

No lifetime appointments. No ivory towers.

Every AMFA position—Local or National—is elected by the Members and subject to Member recall. Every two years, you decide who represents your Local. Every four years, you elect National leadership.

We keep it lean and honest.

AMFA doesn’t invest in real estate or waste your dues on vanity projects. We focus on what matters: negotiating and enforcing CBAs, and protecting your rights on the job. Legal counsel is provided for every arbitration case we submit. Our national president’s salary? 150% of the wages of the technicians we represent. Compare that to unions like IAM, where the national president made over $668,000 in 2023. (Does anyone know why?) We believe your dues should serve you, not enrich executives.

Real Results. Real Representation. Real Democracy.

At AMFA, your voice isn’t just welcomed—it’s required.
From negotiation priorities to leadership elections to how dues are spent, you have a direct say in every decision. We believe the best Union is one that works for the Members—and with the Members—every step of the way. AMFA is the Union that’s built for—and by—the people who make aviation possible.

And you just keep posting NON-related crap that has NOTHING to do with the two merging airline unions at Alaska/Hawaii. All your unrelated antics speaks volumes.
The twu is still but hurt over the many times AMFA has moved into the Mechanics Class and Craft industry thru-out the airlines, and especially the few times they were beaten out by AMFA and the twu was replaced by their membership and brought AMFA in over the existing representational twu. So, therefore the twu union boys will make up anything to try and steer anyone from voting in AMFA for representation. Simply put there skippy, AMFA just keeps WINNING!!! In the Mechanic Class and Craft within the airline industry.
And let's not forget that AMFA had to get previous twu members jobs back that the twu would not step up and fight for at American Airlines. What you have to say about that skippy? Why did AMFA have to do that?? Why wouldn't the twu represent a member that was wrongfully fired??? Where is the twu on this issue???? No where to be found...
