Ok Lucas.

Now back to Alaska and Hawaiian merger news.
Some great news that the combined 2 carriers will continue the new fuel campaign.

So off we go with the big Mechanic Class and Craft representational vote at Alaska/Hawaiian Airlines. I wish you all the best in your decisions of representation.
AMFA has been the choice of most all Airline Mechanics and Related as they have snow balled thru out our industry for the past several years and soon to be at 15 airlines/entities in all, the most of any Airline Mechanics group in our industry, period. And there is good reasons for that. AMFA has nego the best industry leading contracts at each of the newly represented airlines and soon we will all hear about the most recent new AIP @ Sun Country Airlines as well. Good luck to my fellow AMT's at both carriers in this huge vote...

Your Upcoming Vote: What AMFA Can Achieve for AMTs at Hawaiian Airlines

Dec 15, 2025 | Latest News | 0 comments
Dear Hawaiian Airlines AMTs,

Hawaiian-AMTs-Side-01.jpg

On December 16, you will begin voting in a union representation election that will be the most important vote of your career. Before you vote, we want you to have clear, concrete information about what AMFA has already delivered for AMTs at another major carrier— and what that could mean for you.

What AMFA Has Achieved for AMTs at Alaska Airlines

AMFA-represented AMTs at Alaska Airlines earn about $28,000 more per year than AMTs at Hawaiian. That’s roughly $540 more every week—money that goes directly into a family budget, savings account, or retirement plan.

These gains didn’t happen by accident. They were negotiated by an organization focused solely on the craft and class of AMTs.

AMFA Will Improve Your Working Life

At our recent Town Hall Meeting, AMFA’s elected leadership walked through:

  • How AMFA contracts prevent outsourcing
  • How AMFA strengthens job security
  • How AMFA consistently negotiates top-of-industry wages
Click here to watch the town hall. AMFA leaders and counsel answer real questions submitted by Hawaiian Airlines AMTs.

Proven Contract Language That Puts Money in AMTs’ Pockets

One example: AMFA negotiated a “Rising Tides” provision at Alaska Airlines. When wages increase in one city or at one step, everyone beneath that step moves up automatically. No AMT gets left behind.

AMFA also secured an annual wage review, ensuring AMTs remain at the top of the industry when compared with both other airlines and other workgroups. When others receive raises, this review can mean additional money for AMTs, too.

Beginning December 16: Your Choice

By voting for AMFA representation, you choose:

  • A stronger voice
  • Proven wage gains
  • A union focused on the work AMTs do
We’ve delivered these results at Alaska Airlines, and we’re ready to work just as hard for AMTs at Hawaiian Airlines.

Thank you for everything you do to keep Hawaiian Airlines flying safely every day.

In solidarity,

AMFA National Executive Council

Hey WEEZY! This post is for you skippy.
The men and women at both Alaska and Hawaiian pls take note, AMFA just recently came to a new 5 year contract agreement for the Jazz Aviation professionals up in Canada. And once again, AMFA has produced another record new contract and YES industry leading in the Canadian market with record % increases as well as other industry leading improvements in all other areas, including protecting the work and maint being done. Congrats to all involved... Happy reading weez...
This is just another great reason(s) why the combined members at Alaska/Hawaii should overwhelmingly continue with the AMFA representation at the newly merged 2 airlines. Hands down, AMFA is BY FAR the best representation for the Mechanics Class and Craft...

MISSISSAUGA, ON – December 11, 2025 – The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) announced today that its members at Jazz Aviation—both Line Technical Services (Jazz Line) and Jazz Technical Services (JTS)—have ratified new five-year collective bargaining agreements. Nearly 90% of eligible members voted, with strong approval across both groups.
“These agreements reflect the commitment of our negotiating teams and the strength of our members throughout months of aggressive bargaining,” said AMFA National President Bret Oestreich. “Our skilled aviation professionals stood together, and these results speak for themselves.”
Oestreich noted that the contracts deliver double-digit wage gains, strong scope protections, and work rules that respect the knowledge and dedication of AMFA-Jazz members, positioning Jazz Aviation as a leader among Canadian carriers.
Key improvements include:
  • Immediate wage increases of 19–40%, retroactive to Nov. 1, 2025
  • Average wage progression of 63% over five years
  • Annual scale increases of 3.25% (Years 2–3) and 3.5% (Years 4–5)
  • Elimination of pension disparities; company contributions now 6–8%
  • Industry-leading night shift premium with cash-bank conversion
  • Enhanced field assignment and travel pay; double time for forced assignments
  • Removal of all two-tier wage and benefit DOR references
  • Improved vacation structure
  • Reinstated Stat Bank conversion; double time for Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day
These agreements set a new benchmark for compensation and work-life balance in the Canadian airline industry. AMFA remains committed to raising standards and delivering contracts that reflect the vital work of the aviation professionals who keep Canada’s air system safe and reliable.

So AMFA actually needs to thank the IAM. WOW 😮 how about that.

Any union that has language to direct a wage comparo within their contract in order to keep their members up within the industry is just plain smart. Especially when they don't have to wait until their contract becomes amendable. Who cares from which airline, which work group, which peers and even which union, it is just intelligent and smart to have back up language that will help keep them up with the industry as other airlines come to new agreements after AMFSA has already nego them a new industry leading contract wage increases way back when their contract came to be amendable. Then, other airlines, groups, peers and unions follow AMFA's lead in getting them industry leading wages, and since they have a new bar set for them they are able to get a little closer to industry leading thx to AMFA first getting there. So since other airlines followed AMFA's lead and got them up to or near industry leading or even sometimes do accomplished industry leading in the first year, but so far never IL at end of contract yearly raises, then it is a great option to have in order to revisit the wage scales after other airlines, groups, peers and unions follows AMFA's leading contracts and finally get their members raises as well. And now you have the real story of how all that took place. And thx so much for pointing this out for all to see the great added language by AMFA to revisit wage increases in the middle of their contract without having to reopen or nego anything at all. That weezy, is just pure great language...

Wages are easy. Now talk about jobs.

Accusation: AMFA sells away its work (jobs) for wage increases.

AMFA negotiated for 7 years at SWA and didn’t gain any contractual work improvements. AMFA then next time took a Contract extension that prevented them from having to slog it out for another 7 years but agreed to give up more work for wages (LOA # 1)

And don’t look to blame the IBT any longer because that bird has flown 22 years and 11 Months ago.

Why hasn’t AMFA been able to “contractually” negotiate to bring in more work at SWA? If the “Company” provides (grants) more work to their in house workers that’s out of the kindness and generosity of the “Company” That has ZERO ZILCH NADA NOTHING 👎 to do with AMFA.

BTW glad to know you’re such a big fan of the IBT too Lucas. How come you couldn’t get this language at SWA? Tsk tsk.

More made up BS weezy and you know it. All the folks out here that matter, and have something to do with the Mechanics Class and Craft group already know the improvements made since SWA Mechs fired the teamsters and brought AMFA in. We all know about AMFA doubling the Heavy lines of maint (teamsters NEVER added a single line of Heavy maint.) where AMFA added two, yes 2 Heavy lines in Dallas. They also added "C" Check lines in Dallas, Hou, and Phx. Also added additional lines of maint at Hou with the new hangars being completed not too long ago. Added (tripled) hundreds of headcount at SWA. Added language to limit and restric SWA from the wide open outsourcing that the teamsters allowed over seas twice. AMFA has in fact brought in more work than any previous union has ever. Back shops, line maint, overnighters, C-checks, heavy line maint, almost a half dozen newly built hangars and added hangars in Dallas to do the added 2 lines of heavy maint. The crap you post just doesn't add up there skippy. Nice try, but this same ole made up rhetoric doesn't hold any water at all. The industry knows what AMFA has accomplished, and what they will accomplish in the future.

AMFA hasn’t added or brought in jack ****. Southwest Airlines “”””Management”””” brought in any and all extra work outside of what they are contractually required to. Period!!!!!

AMFA couldn’t bring in a wet napkin outside of what’s in their Contracts.
