What's new

AMFA Local 5

OH MY GAWD!! I'm not even sure where I should start.
DUH!!!! Hello, McFly? Is anyone home?
 Easy JAFA.

Why the hell do you think pay cuts and job losses sparked a strike? What did you think? That AMFA was just bored of working for NW and decided now was a good time to go away?

Hold on now, was this about the money or the 53% in jobs. Lets make up our mind.

They are using seniority for vacation bidding, really? Wow, an airline is using the seniority system? Quick, someone call Eyewitness news we've never seen this before.
Just for kicks I'll ask. Just what the hell were you expecting to be used for determining who gets a certain day or week off? Longest p...err largest shoe size?

Well I've always taken my vacation when I damn well pleased. What ever happened to submitting your vacation two weeks ahead of time? Most people that bid their vacation for the first half of the year has cancelled it. Many people have been moved to other crews where they had to re-bid their vacation again. Every time they change someone’s RDO's that person bids again thus making others bid again. It's a really stupid inefficient system if you ask me. Maybe I would just like to add a couple of days here and there to my RDO's instead of taking a week at a time. Maybe I want to use my vacation a few hours at a time. That is the way most normal places do it. I don't see why it can't be done here.

NW management lied to a work group?
Quick call Eyewitness news back, I've got one more scoop for them. They lied to everyone. I wonder could all these lies have something to do with the low morale and lack of trust? Nah, that's just crazy talk.

I think they call it bait and switch.

As for the AMFA contract, well I guess maybe you should've learned something other than scabbing. That is how it works, that is how it worked at CO in the 80's too, until a decertifaction vote AMFA remains the legal bargining agent and the imposed contract the new CBA.

There is something wrong with this picture. AMFA doesn't want anything to do with the Scabs. NWA doesn't want anything to do with AMFA nor does the Scabs. I think AMFA should take its followers, stay off the property and soak up its tears with its tossed out contract. NWA and the Scabs should be able to work without a contract at all.

I'm sorry I must have missed something here. Did you really just say that it should be the companies problem that you chose to stay in your trailer and commute rather than live in your work location? Not in this lifetime scab. I commuted too, several differant times. You fly out a day early, spring for the ZED, or suck it up and buy a ticket, but you get your worthless, no good, scabbing hide in that hangar on time. Every airline has this policy so I guess it's once again welcome to the airline industry.

Like I asked PhxMama, "What good does it do to buy a ticket on a flight that is bumping revenue passengers? I don't care what goes on at other places and neither does the rest of the Scabs here. If NWA wishes to keep its current work force they are going to have to learn how to deal with a whole new breed of workers. We will not stand around b!tching and crying. We will state our dislikes and if the problem isn't quickly resolved we will simply leave. Contractors have a tendency to move as a flock. It is really uncanny, once a migration has started it is very difficult to stop it.

You really never have worked for someone else have you? As someone who has owned a business let me tell you that when I run the place and you work for me it is you who bends to my way or I will bend the exit door open and you can hit the street. There is a CBA in effect (the imposed one), there is still a legal authorized bargaining agent (AMFA), and for good or bad the liers are still in charge so get over it, suck it up, get to work on time (every time), and pencil whip those pieces of sh*t into service. You have lives to risk, now get to it.

How eloquent.

Felix….

WOW…..

Thanks for being so honest in your answer. I just cannot pick a part and elaborate on every item you listed on why a SCAB would leave NW.

All I can say is WOW….meatheads….
Guess contract workers must have visions of grandeur or are seriously delusional when it comes to working at a Major. GLAD ALL YOUR SCAB BUBBLES HAVE BEEN POPPED. SCABS probably thought it was going to be cake working for a major.

Ps….flying privileges are just that a privilege to be used at vacation time, once or twice a year….not used as transportation to and from work…..DUH…. 😉

Uhhhh, it can.

They're called D.A.T.'s (day at a time vacation). On the ramp we can take 1/2 DATS, or whole ones. The CSA's can do either of those or take it in hourly increments.

Uhhh, You’re only half right. At the beginning of the year you must request the use of your vacation time in DAT's. Then you get up to 40 Hrs in the form of DAT's or the time may also be used in the form of HAT's (hour at a time). Your next series of forty hours must be taken five days at a time. What ever happened to purchased vacation?

So? Do what everyone else does; pick a week (or two) that you would like off, and use the DATS in between for long weekends with your buddies noodling.

I wonder why you can only take 40 hours worth? We can take up to 80.....

News flash, groundcontrol. This job is "cake". These silly work rules they come up with, makes being here difficult. These are rules that were never brought up while we were here as contractors. As a contractor you get sick or just want a couple of extra days off? No big deal, just pick up a phone and say, "I'm going to take the next couple of days off. You never heard another word about it. Now, you want two personal days or even get sick? "That will be a coaching. Hey, you called in again six months later that’s going to be a level for you. This is your third on time tardy, were going to give you a level. Yes we know since the buses have been contracted out they have not been running on schedule but it is your responsibility to be here." You guys just suck this shet up apparently but a contractor will tell them what they can do with their level and hit the road no questions asked.

You want to here something rally comical though. Had there not been any AMFA Scabs. There would not be enough of us here to keep this operation going.

What good does it do to buy a ticket on a flight that is bumping revenue passengers?
Call into reservations for the next flight and buy the tkt, as you know we all overbook. The key is to ask for a seat assignment. Once you have a seat assigned-who cares if its a middle-they will be hard pressed to bump you. If nothing avail ask what the other carriers are and call them. I buy my seats ahead of time to get the advance purchase discount and better seat assigment. You really need to get some flying savy going but wait, with all these comlaints, will you stay?

...but wait, with all these comlaints, will you stay?
No I will not but not because of the above complaints but other personal issues and pet projects that must be addressed. I should take care of them by early 2007. If I do not go overseas I will then apply for re-hire here. I am not going to miss another summer at home though. June 6th has made a year since I have been gone, boy where does the time go? As a matter of fact I have just completed my letter of resignation, I will turn it in Monday.

What are you gonna do now? Go be a scab in IRAQ?

All this sounds like to me is that CONTRACTOR WORKERS have NO WORK ETHICS.....sounds like a personal problem to me. This is also why any airline who contracts out their work get shet in return, piss poor work ethics from the likes of you.

I never had trouble getting to work on time. I doubt that you will last till next winter, you had a mild one this year, just wait and see if you get there on time with lots of snow on the ground. I understand you south of the line types don't even know how to drive in the white stuff. I can hear it now...how am I suppose to park when they plow all that shet into the parking spaces. LOL cry baby...

I'm not worried about AMFA SCABS bozo, so you need not to mention them. If you intended that last line to flame me...its not gonna work. My wait and see attitude is still intact. I can out last you anytime.

hey superscab, what ever will SCAB AIR do without SUPER SCAB's so called intelligence? they may be able to get a plane fixed completely without you?

These silly work rules they come up with, makes being here difficult. These are rules that were never brought up while we were here as contractors.

You are a delusional fool, ...uhhh NEWSFLASH: The world does'nt revolve around PTO. its simple, you play by the mans rules are you don't play. you chose to be a SCAB who blast's unions, and boasted of having superior negotiating skills with no need of a union contract, yet you cry about the companies ability to change the rules   Yea you're a mental giant alright, you should heed your own advice and submit that ID-10T form

I have just completed my letter of resignation, I will turn it in Monday.

Facta, non verba!

PTO,

You still don't get it do you?

'Unions are a Failure of Management'!!!

If you have inept management, you need a Union!
JMHO, this industry is ripe with inept management and do not know how to treat people as human beings.

Get it? Got it? Vote Union!!!
