I am hoping to find out how the mechanics at AS feel about the representation they get from
AMFA?

Are you happy with the National Officers?

Being that L. Key is from AS how is his followup with any questions or concerns from the membership?

We here at AA are looking to replace the TWU and need some info from you at AS.
have input from SWA amt's but have heard little from AS?

And were you happy with AMFA when the OAK base was closed and just over half your membership lost your jobs?

O/S

What happens at each carrier is different, its not like AMFA National dictates to each carrier what happens. At each company, no matter what union, has its own negotiation team and input from the members. Only at a AMFA represented company can the membership sit in during negotiations as well as remove those officers that do not look out for the membership. UnLike the IBT-TWU-IAM. Hoffa-Little-??? @ IAM are and will be there until they retire. Untouchable. And Most important Unaccountable to the membership.

Why hasn't the Teamsters opened the indy O/H facility since they promised that to all the guys when they had the drive to get in to United? Why are the mechanics at UAL looking to replace the IBT with either the IAM or AMFA?

Why hasn't the IBT merged the CAL & UAL guys since they were both IBT, its been what TWO yrs now?

Are they going to get the pension back for the UAL guys they promised as well?

Are they going to remove the pension the CAL guys when they negotiate the contract?

What are they going to do with all the CAL guys that are being hired while UAL guys are on layoff?

The 2.5X dues is what the IBT pays, the extra .5 is for s strike fund, but if you work for a Legacy carrier such as UAL you can't strike so WHY the extra .5. Money for the butcher/baker or to line Hoffas pockets?

Why are the UAL guy lumped in with the butcher-baker-candle stick makers while the aircraft mechanics at UPS have there own Local? Can the Teamsters asnwer all these questions?

Hey O'speed save it for another day.. The Twu's record is indefensible. Their record of AMT representation at AA is abysmal at best..Consistant concessions year after year and the ONLY time the Twu could muster up anything of benefit was pre 9/11 after AMFA set the bar and AA had no choice but to match it. Was nothing Twu did. The only arguement you can garner is for OH and you are even losing those now.

The airlines are all closing O/H facilities and contracting maintenance out I am sure the guys laid off or displaced at AS were not happy. But as a part of the intl of the IBt you are not subject to layoff. Just like the TWU intl at AA.

Un-Accountable?

lets see what the Alaska mechanics say if any respond to my original post?
