That's not quite true. The creditors can force management's hand to look at other business plans using public relations, political pressure, etc. They can also file objections if AA requests another exclusivity extension, which AA is sure to do as there's no way there business plan will be clear in only a few more months. If there are other viable reorganization options, the judge is obligated to let the creditors bring those forward once the exclusivity period is over.

The UCC can also petition the court to shorten the extension, which will result in hearings. What they can't do is terminate it on their own. So if the UCC files a motion to end the exclusivity period prior to the end of Sept, we'll know that something is going on - the UCC wants the exclusivity period shortened for some reason. Considering that it'd take something like 6 weeks at least to get an answer from the judge and that nothing has been filed yet by the UCC, nothing is coming to a boil yet.
