Any one had any experience with Boston-Maine Airways (what is their carrier code by the way)?? I'm thinking of flying them TTN>BED as I have to go to Burlington Vermont on short notice and US is at like $950..Its $99 each way on B-M!! Course I'm driving the final leg.

All I know about them is they moved north when the current Pan Am Dismanteled their hub in Sanford Fl. They originally had one flight a day out of TTN but since Shuttle America has pulled out, they are up to eight flights or so out of TTN. The only down fall is the Equipment, old J-Balls or should I say the J31.

On the web, it says they are owned by Guilford Transportation Systems which owns rail lines too and, Guilford is controlled by Tim Mellon of Mellon family fame.

Jim, thanks for the concept but I live near Philly and JFK could be a 3 hour drive. I booked today on www.bmairways.com and the fares TTN>BED>TTN with a depart 9/1 at 9:30 AM and return 9/3 at 4:30PM were a reasonable $125 each way! Thanks for the thought, Jim!

If you live near Philly, why wouldn't you book PHL-MHT on US Airways or Southwest instead; MHT airport is nearly an hour closer to Burlington than Hanscom Field. I don't think you'd pay more than $75 each way on US or WN, either, and you wouldn't have to deal with the Boston-area traffic and Route 3 construction.

One more option to try,

Continental Connection/Commutair service from ABE-ALB-BTV. If you don't mind a B1900 to B1900 connection, it might be a decent option. A colleague of mine recently flew BOS-ALB-BUF on Commutair and was very pleased with the service. They have a little mini-hub in Albany with flights fanning out all over the Northeast.

Yes! Thx Hope! I know ABE well being a Lafayette College grad!

If you don't mind, please post your impression of B/M and the experience. It's an airline I hear almost ziltch about and am curious to know your take on them.

Thanks!

MTurpiz, I am writing from BTV (should be BVT grrr!) and I can say was very impressed with B-M (flying as Pan Am Cipper)...The counterwoman at TTN was fanatastic and even suggested having breakfast at the nearby Courtyard off Scotch Road since I was way early. There were a total of three PAX (two pays, one deadheading pilot) and it was a fine trip. Only one consideration: make sure you "use the facilities" b4 boarding as there are no bathrooms on this 19 seater. So dont drink a lot b4 the 90 minute trip.

Yes indeed > I left TTN at 9:10 and arrived BED at around 10:30 so they were somewhat early...Going back the Friday of Labor Day weekend at 4:30 PM it was 90 minutes..BTW return had 13 of 19 seats filled.
