Without the Wookie I was sure fooled.

Based on the score, there are three people who had no sense of humor. It took a lot of time putting all that together, including the Wookie.

Maybe they did not have their first cups of caffiene or forgot the date.

Doug Parker Decides 'Small is Beautiful' - Doesn't Want AA-US Merger After Livery Concerns

In a surprise turn of events, US Airways CEO Doug Parker announced that the airline's planned merger with American Airlines had been called off shortly after receiving bankruptcy court approval.

Parker, one of the industry's staunchest supporters of consolidation, explained that while there were tremendous financial synergies, the stress of determining how to paint the aircraft, often called the livery, was too much.

"Everyone knows that the most important part of any merger is how you paint the airplanes. This one was just too difficult for us to figure out," sighed Parker.

American, which has long been associated with the polished, bare metal look on its aircraft, recently changed to a gray paint with a stylized American flag covering the tail. When the new look rolled out, American CEO Tom Horton described it with a simple, "'Merica!"

The merger between the two airlines would have created the largest airline in the world with $1 billion in annual revenue synergies. Reaction to the announcement was mixed.

Horton expressed disappointment. "We at American really believed that this merger was the best plan. In fact, I suggested a merger between American and Allegheny when I was in my mother's womb. I'm shocked and saddened that I will no longer get my $20 million severance, er, I mean, that two great companies will not be uniting as one."

American's unsecured creditors issued a joint statement.

"Though the US Airways merger would have been the best financial outcome for all creditors, we fully support the decision to not move forward. The livery really is so incredibly important."

Some wondered whether there were other issues at play in this decision. One anonymous source questions, "I mean, would you want to live in Dallas?"

Compass Correction Coalition (The Pension Investigation and Vietnam): April 1, 2013

I have followed the Pension Investigation closely, reading every document and word they put out. The transcript of the trial was riveting at times (the entire five part transcript is on the legal library of our website under USAPA vs. PBGC). It takes about 5 hours to read it all. If you are time limited, I strongly recommend you take the hour to read the cross exam of our expert witness (Stanton) by the PBGC hired gun (Dubelier) which occurs during Day 2. Our expert witness, and all the “red flags” he had raised in our direct examination, is systematically crushed during the cross.

If you only have 5 minutes, go to the last transcript (Day 3) and read the last 5 pages starting at pg.61. Judge Scullin’s exasperation with our lack of a case leaps from the pages. After two and a half days we failed to demonstrate a single thing that will stick. Twice in those final minutes the Judge tells our attorney (Butler) he doesn’t see “what the pilots get out of this”.

Since that debacle the post trial briefs are in to the Judge. The PIC posted our two briefs on the website but not the two from the PBGC. I sent 4 emails to the PIC asking if they would post the PBGC briefs. I received no answer. I managed to procure them my self, and as this is being written, the PIC is being given an opportunity to transparently post them for your education. If they don’t then Comm will post them. These two documents are only 24 and 8 pages long. They are required reading. If you read nothing else, read these summaries of our case.

To make it easy, click on the links below to access these documents. This case will be dismissed. In the end, the record showed, we had nothing.

So now, the PIC is already prepping the pilots to appeal in their latest updates. Since they have burned through every dime of their assessment money, this could only be accomplished by another assessment. Recall, in my previous Compass Correction almost 3 years ago on the financial Vietnam this would become, I predicted they would come back for more. (click HERE to read that CCC) If they do…..get educated and read the documents before voting. We are already, with the recent .5% bump in dues, the most heavily dues taxed pilots in America. I’m not interested in throwing any more good money after bad. When this case gets dismissed, it is time to fold our tent on the pension investigation and move on. We gave it the shot everyone wanted but hit nothing.

Reality is starting to happen.

But if there is another assessment I am voting for it. Another $600,000 spent chasing a ghost, no problem. Good entertainment watching east pilots hang hope on smoke.

I think they're addicted to chasing Ghosts, Smoke? Not so much. Smoke is at least a real thing that actually exists...they can't bring themselves even that close to reality. The Courts will have to do it for them.

Reality is starting to happen.

Wow!....Dude!...That's like waay so totally profound! 🙂 I think I'll have that inscribed right alongside: "No matter where you go....there you are." 😉

I'd thought reality had already been happening for over 13 billion years. Thanks for clearing that misunderstanding up.

As I posted a few weeks back, the PIC has been sitting on the reality of a loss for quite some time now. Instead of involving themselves in politics and violating comm policy, they should have come clean about the fact that our chances were less than zero of the investigation recovering even a penny. Lots of money was flushed away with nothing to show for it. Its over. Those that went on this hunt before USAPA warned that it was a fool's errand and they were correct.
USAPA is also sitting on the fact that Nicolau is going to be implemented. We're going to find out the hard way soon enough.

DISCLAIMER: These are my views and not necessarily an endorsement by the Compass Correction Coalition. Doug. April Fools, folks. Both Dan and Dave have measured up to the true meaning of this date: they ARE most certainly "fools for all seasons."

Here is how AOL funds itself. First Officers ask the Captains to donate and if they don't then all the First Officers put them on the no fly list and the Captain cannot pick up time. You gotta love it!!! True extortion by the minority. And you thought USAPA was bad. AOL, the "real" AFO club.

That is fantasy that I have not heard before. Let alone one you would have any proof of. But in order for your incorrect theory to work all the F/O's would have to be in on it.

Except that nullifies usapa fantasy that only a few rogue west pilots support Loenidas and the Nicolau.

Do you know how usapa extorts money? Pay up or your fired. That is extortion.

Tell you what lets make paying dues to usapa voluntary and see who collects more money.

Whether its ALPA, USAPA, Teamsters, IAM, APA, etc., it's all the same. However, I DO agree with you that RLA and the Supreme Court need to revisit the issue. However, from what I have been told, the AFO's out west threaten the Captains with this or else!

I get it, a joke.

That's funny but you are a day late.

That's why it's not a joke. AwFOL (Angry West First Officer of Leonidas) is a concerted effort by junior pilots out west to extort from senior pilots money to advance their minority cause. Looking forward to the First Captain that says he won't pay another nickel to you and he sues your organization for loss pf pay and extortion.

Even the West flight attendants are getting in the act. They call us "east infection". I love it, everyone calls everyone names. Yesterday, we laughed about how childish the West crews can get. I know, this dialogue is supposed to be beneath professionals, but I gotta say, even the pleadings from Harper and Jacobs are downright infantile. They ask again to move their suit to Wake and/or Silver. The company doesn't care. What USAPA will do I have no idea but Harper asked this the last time in the DJ and Wake told them no because the transfer had to be with the consent of BOTH parties.

The plain language of LRCiv 42.1(a) requires for an unconsented transfer that the related case be “pending” before the transferee judge alone is authorized to transfer the other case to himself. That requirement fails on this motion.

See you guys in BK court tomorrow. Hope Marty and Andy got some sleep.

You couldn't be more wrong, but then again, you usually are. I dare you to offer one item of proof to your statement.
