Did they first agree to the laboratory conditions and were they then "professionally trained" to do exactly that? Then it could be said that the result is one of the "professionally trained" monkeys holding up their end of the agreement. Now, the east monkeys are different - agreed to abide with the terms, then demanded all the bananas, had sex with the female lab assistants, and threw feces on each other when they didn't get either.their demands met...plus declared themselves morally bound to resist slipping on the banana peels.

IMO....it is a binding arbitration unless it's a windfall to one side or the other. That's what people are forgetting. Case in point. How does a west pilot hired 2 days before I was gain 850 numbers. Explain that plz.....Now, to show you how stupid that is, in my seniority I lost an average of 400-500 numbers..........so how does one pilot, stated above, gain so many. Explain that plz....it shows the inaccuracies of his boondoggle list. And I might point out, this is insignificant to the travesty that was done do the men and woman that sit next to me and what this aribidisgraction has done to them.

What was your relative seniority on your list before and after the "merger". Also, were you ever furloughed?

You're misreading pilot seniority arbitrations. I could argue that in the case of DAL and UAL longevity WAS seniority, since both were adequately preserved, rather than one sacrificed for the sake of the other.

I've read through the DAL/NWA list. The disparity in longevity was limited in most cases to just a few years. That's a fact. So in their case, the arbitration panel was able to focus on other criteria or metrics and of course money provided the salve. So in the case of the new DAL, both seniority and longevity were adequately preserved.

But where the disparity in longevity becomes significant, as in our case, in some instances approaching two decades of more service to company and dues to ALPA - sacrificing one metric at the altar of the other leads to disaster. That too, is a grim fact.

The demographics were similar resulting coincidently that longevity mirrired seniority. However the integration is a seniority integration and due to some major mis-steps on the part of the pilot union leadership, east pilots endured some hard times. Those hard times are quarantined to their side of the integration.

How many times must you be told that a new list was devised from merging two, not finding a place to stick the west pilots on the east list.

You gotta make peace with that fact sooner or later.

The AWA moron McIlvenna was told to be careful, because if he wasn't, the larger group in the DEMOCRACY had more VOTES, and would pull out of same. The moron didn't listen to common sense and his ALPA lawyer, and the eastern group outvoted the windfallers out of power. The windfall group was VOTED out of power, and a new group went in( sound familiar to something in your history lessons yet?) Then the new group, with more votes, changed bargaining agents, and picked a more representative body for the MAJORITY, and was backed by an AMERICAN COURT called the 9th APPEALS. All legal.
