All that said, translates to another delay without resolution.
" DEJA VU" for the EAST remember the guys lucky to have a job, losers etc! Irony is a funny thing our first United merger went down in flames the same way, no resolution? BS, welcome aboard my friend!

How is Doug Parker now going to face both pilot groups and maintain the lowest and next lowest pay scales? What will he say after he bears sole responsibility for placing two airlines in limbo?
The board needs to find a new CEO. This one has destroyed the stand alone possibility for LCC. American has a huge fleet order, and a chance to regain its' standing. We have a CEO who has a demonstrated record of four attempted and unfulfilled mergers. He still has separate ops after a merger from 2005.
It is time for all employee groups to demand a new leader who will pay and treat the employees fairly. If they do not, I would imagine you will see hundreds of new hire pilots leave for greener pastures in the midst of a potential shortage.

Sad news for all employees of LCC and American... It appears from what is being reported that the DOJ (Eric Holder) have dug in their heels and are seriously going to do whatever it takes to stop this merger. Too bad Parker and LCC management had to run their mouths so much, as it appears this information is where the DOJ is getting their ammo. Status quo for the next decade!

You are exactly right. The frat boy botched this. Did Dug get another DUI last night? Anyone know?

Quick, name the reasons it's Doug's fault why we don't have a JCBA these long 5 years......

Quick, name the single reason it's USAPA's fault why we don't have a JCBA these long 5 years........

Please show your factual work, and do not cheat using Mut's, Luv's & Claxon's "informed" dissertations......

The appendix lists 1,043 airline routes between cities where, according to the Justice Department, the combined company would have a presumptively illegal monopoly or near monopoly.

Does anyone know where I can get a DOJ dictionary or which search engine they use?

Dictionary.com give this definition for monopoly:

mo·nop·o·ly
[muh-nop-uh-lee] control of a commodity or service in a particular market, or a control that makes possible the manipulation of prices. Compare duopoly, oligopoly.
2.
an exclusive privilege to carry on a business, traffic, or service, granted by a government.
3.
the exclusive possession or control of something.
4.
something that is the subject of such control, as a commodity or service.
5.
a company or group that has such control.

Well, I did a quick search for flights on kayak.com for one of the most restricted routes we would have, CLT-DFW, for tomorrow with a return the next day. It came up with 1400 possible itineraries, and pretty sure that doesn't even include Southwest. What am I missing.

Everyone is yelling at Doug today, and I'm not too happy, but he just says what others think. We are in business to make a profit. When did that became a sin?

You are responsible for maintaining Parker. He is good at keeping wages low because of pilots like you. Wait until the mass exodus of new hires start. Most will head to American and the other legacies. You were dying to jump on the Kirby.
Sept 24 th means nothing now. Enjoy life with Doug Parker. You will have him for a long, long time.

OK, I'll bite. Although we have all fanned the flames since, it was Parker refusing to give the East parity immediately following the merger. This was long before USAPA, AOL, or the NIC even existed. He wanted us at odds. You will probably be able to pick many points after that to pin the blame on either East or West, but Parker gets the blame from me. He apparently despises labor AND the travelling public. Like EOA pondered, I wonder if any internal emails will pop up between Parker and the APA. I suspect there are some doozies none of us will be happy with. RR

Exactly RR. He started the entire deal with pay dysfunction. Which was then maintained by Cactusboy and Co. Parker is a pro at low pay, and I am sure he will come out again at a crew news and justify it again, after ( I voted NO) a majority of pilots agreed to his terms.
He better give us all that pay or we should take out a USA Today ad a week with his quotes and e mails in them for the public to see. This guy is the Frank Lorenzo of the new age.

PI where have you been the last 4 going on 5 years... The dealmakers in DC think making a profit is denying the little guy any opportunity... It's about controlling if not killing business (that is if they are not GE) They'd much rather give out "free stuff".

The report the DOJ refers to came out about 3.5 mos ago or at least that is when I read it, I believe I could be wrong but it was done by a consumer advocacy group with some well documented sources and facts, maybe start at the report and work backwards anyway remember this group is only as good as their leader and our legacy so far is "WORST to CURSED" Thanx DUI!

Sigh! There are average morons, and then there are tragic cases of true village idiots in this world.

Quick (as if you could ever be such) name the reasons it's ANY union or employee group's fault this potential merger with AMR is falling apart?

Nevermind. Just toss your best knee-pads on and go attend to "Doug", your evidently BFFO. 😉
