August 2013 Pilot Discussion

An anonymous group solicited West pilots to file a grievance over the company's failure to publish the Nic this July, with the contractually mandated seniority list publication.

It seems some did and their grievance was denied.

Anybody got a copy of the denial letter?

Anonymous group. Koontz. Urged on by Hummel. Kind of like Custer at Bighorn. " come on men, just a few savages........."

Uh, didn't you post the update almost an hour after I did? I say again, pay attention, I already read and commented on it by the time you posted your version.

You are a bit slow today. Keep up.

Oh, you read it? Maybe you can explain why the "final and binding" list is now being referred to as a "federally arbitrated" list.....

If you guys are going to throw around adjectives like "Federal" (and indeed they have meaning) then it would help to pick something applicable and unassailable.... Like "internal union process" ... or "preferred list".

Care to explain what this is or who is behind it?

How would I know? The only names I saw on the website were the two west merger committee members.

After RR's hints I searched for west seniority loss and up popped the website. It was discussed here a few weeks ago,

Just in time for Sept 24. Leonidas hands USAPA a perfect gift. The company denial of a seniority list ordered per Nicolau in a grievance no less. The two of them look like monkeys banging a football. Nice.
Nic4US. What is the only seniority list accepted by USAirways?

Que the chimney pull challenge!

Interesting the letter mentioned Federal like you said. There was nothing Federal. And as you stated, it was an internal union process. These facts have been totally lost on Leonidas and Harper from the beginning. Had the Nic made it through an ALPA JCBA it would be final and binding.
Now, it honestly holds no legal standing whatsoever. Borne out by the fact six yrs later it is still not enforced. This grievance denial adds more legal ammunition for USAPA.
That Parker 2007 letter was full of ALPA references as the bargaining agent was them. As they were replaced, their successor agent USAPA had no obligation to the unfulfilled and unratified JCBA.. A JCBA that never materialized. Nor the ALPA Nicolau list that required it to bind.

Yes, indeed there is a West class. I'm just not certain who it is that is representative of that class....

Is it the folks that voted 98% in favor of the MOU? Or maybe the 100% who seem to be represented in the denied grievance... For some reason I have a fealing that 100% of pilots could put in a grievance request to the company to get a copy of the updated Nic system seniority list... And 100% would be denied. Hmmmmm... 100% is more than 98%... Lets go with these guys to define the class reps.

Oh good Lord Columbo, let me try this again. If you have one of the Fisher-Price clocks you use to teach children how to tell time, maybe it will help.

When I got on USAv today I was on the pilot's thread. Went back and forth a little. Got an email and opened it. It's was Gary's update and copied it on pilot thread, asking you if you were happy-because of you comments YESTERDAY about USAPA doing nothing. That was post #4360, pg 364, at 10:03(my time).

After that, I went to the PA thread, where I saw your post(#26,pg3, @09:20)on the update. I replied to you on post #30(pg 3, @10:30) that you wouldn't be happy with anything. That would be :27 min after I asked you if you were happy on the pilots thread.

Back on the pilot threat on post #4362(pg 364 @10:54) you told me that you already posted it, I knew it and to not be stupid.

We were going back and forth between threads!

Are you really clear or fodase? You seem to be on the same level lately.

Well according to the letter I got signed by D. Parker, that would be the Nicolau Seniority Award, that is the only system seniority list at LCC.

You have a letter signed by Parker saying that the Nicolau award will be implemented as the system seniority list at US Airways? I'd like to see that.

Or the "why we hate you guys list", the "we really, really want it list", the "we saved you list." Any would do.

Watch for the new lanyards for the P4P guys. Gary has kept all of the membership in the dark, so much for transparency he promised us hopefully we will start to hear what he has been really up to.
