Wonder how the Continental pilots would've reacted if it was all subject to membership ratification where they actually vote on the new deal or just keep what they brought to the merger instead?

What makes you think any other pilot group who had the misfortune being stuck with Usapians would put up with your crap? When the United/Continental list was published did they throw a hissy fit?

The CAL pilots are not happy. My best friend ended up 33 percent on the combined list. He said he is fine and he lost a few years of Senority but not bad. Mentioned he is on the list basically where he was in 2010. But many others did not make out well. I'm sure there will be a lawsuit but its a different animal. merger policy as we know was changed because of the failed NIC list. It required at joint CBA and then the list. Not contingent on the list being implemented by a joint CBA like ours. At US the NiC has never been the list and never will be the list because there will be no joint CBA. and snap he thinks the NIC was a total failure like many at ALPA thus the changed policy.

That's quite the opposite of what a Houston based Cont. Captain told me. His relative seniority was roughly the same. He's not supporting any non-existant lawsuit.

There's only one reason you guys keep hoping for division at the new United. You are trying to justify your actions. I don't think Cont. pilots want any part of the self-imposed misery which follows a Usapian.

The primal directives of self sustenance and basic survival allow for all of our species to rationalize, as it was indeed an evolved trait....even in sorry and extreme cases (accompanied by infantile narcissism and demonstrated issues of arrested development) evidently going so far as enabling delusional fantasies of magically becoming "righteous" paradigms of "integrity", supposed "spartans", or even "knights" who've "fought many battles with valor". But heck..I suppose ya' gotta' have an extremely active imagination to ever "think" anyone with a few mere months worked should be made "senior" to others with as much as 16+ to even 17 years of service. 😉

I have no problem with the east using their legal options. Their cards have always been face up. The west could have opted for a fence but chose not to. The end.
