I find introducing reality to the east and adjusting their paradigms to be a refreshing and satisfying hobby.
the paradigm?
here's the paradigm: Date Of Hire. it has served the airline industry well for a long, long time...

Junebug said: "And, believe me, I know of ALPA's flaws more than you ever will."

East asked: How could you even begin to go there?

Hey, believe me, Junebug was the one holding the "let my dady vote" sign. Imagine the stress.

Well..that was at least a contribution I'll have to note, and anyway she's right; what do I know about Alpo?...I've only been doing this for 24 years

Explains your senility.

At least you're a person of consistent beliefs and convictions......That must at least provide you with the "calm" sense of moral and intellectual supremacy so readilly evident througout your postings😉
It sure does old man, it sure does.

Thanks..I've been wondering if it was the 24 years of airline life that had done it, the USAF time, or just the 40 total years since first solo in sailplanes. Sigh..it's tragic: Look what you have to sadly look forward to if you don't crash, become terminally ill, or otherwise run afoul of fate. You too could eventually become senile

Naturally; I'll go first to truly experienced and worldly aviators such as yourself for good counsel on how to think about Alpo, and/or life in general.

Ummm..what were we talking about again?...I forget

Too senile to remember..?

"Fast, Neat, Average,...."

"POST!"

Referring to this one, are ya? Don't think Doogie ever read it and I'm pretty sure Kirby forgot it a long time ago:

SCHOFIELD'S DEFINITION OF DISCIPLINE.

The discipline that makes the soldiers of a free country reliable in battle is not to be gained by harsh or tyrannical treatment. On the contrary, such treatment is far more likely to destroy than to make an army. It is possible to impart instructions and to give commands in such manner and such a tone of voice to inspire in the soldier no feeling but an intense desire to obey, while the opposite manner and tone of voice cannot fail to excite strong resentment and a desire to disobey. The one mode or the other of dealing with subordinates springs from a corresponding spirit in the breast of the commander. He who feels the respect which is due to others cannot fail to inspire in them regard for himself, while one who feels, and hence manifests disrespect toward others, especially his inferiors, cannot fail to inspire hatred toward himself."

- MG John M. Schofield, in an address to the Corps of Cadets, 11 August 1879

Great and true observations not faulted, or found wanting by the test of time.

Its YOUR MEC and YOUR REPs that f'ed you over, not National.

You folks out east need to start taking responsibility for your own f'ing up (you've been doing it for years) and quit playing the part of the victim.

Go after your reps and MEC officers - not National.

They weren't involved in the med/arb process.

Arbitrator Nicolau wanted the MECs to wittle the baby down before he cut it in half.

PHL and PIT aren't bigger than the rest of the locals combined, thus their absolute domination is not a given. PHX will be the biggest local and has the best chance to build coalitions among the rational pilots in the east. The radicals will find themselves isolated and frustrated and vanquished.

Anarchy will not win in the end.

WTFO?

The only thing CLT, LGA, DCA, and BOS ever did was "save the company" by allowing 3,000 pilot position to be transfered to Express, allowing Mesa work rules and nearly 50% pay cuts, so that pilots like Butkovic and his band could have their $3 Mil houses. Enough of saving the company. It is gone. It has become Mesa by another name.

Those who oppose giving everything away are not rational? It's no wonder pilots at LCC are the beeotches of ALPA.
