In my travels today, rumblings heard within CLT that a road trip was sent to BGI to repair a/c714. No IAM sent? Any facts on just 2 supervisors sent? WOW, maybe HP's plan is to replace IAM with supervisors to repair a/c. Sounds a little like your problem in PHL with HP people loading baggage. Looks like big changes are happening at USAirways -----EAST!

Delldude,

Does this happen often that supervisors are sent on road trips without mechanics?

Thx

like i just said....they aren't required to ferry U mechs in like they used to and the supers probably did the log signoff and oversaw non airbus trained mechs do the repairs...perfectly legal as long as those supers were trained.

Like I said, the supervisors were working on the a/c TODAY. They were not just there to do the signoff. I understand that per your contract they can now do that, but what I'm asking is this going to be standard ops since HP took over? No more IAM road trips....

you saw these supers doing work?
as per the jan6 2006 term sheet it says:
at non-maintenance locations, unscheduled aircraft maintenance and daily checks may be accomplished by a vendor
so i guess they could offer these supers a vendor rate and still be in the boundary of the contract.wow this puts an interesting spin on the contract now if this is correct.
wheres 700 when you need him?

Let the supervisors have the fun, been on many of those road trips....easy money!!!! Yea right, send you to an out station with a promise of assistance and parts will be there for the fix....only to find someone dropped the ball!!! No parts, no manuals, your on your own, all kinds of promises from MTC control then when you finally get it fixed and get home you have to fight to be paid properly!!!!
