BIG CUTS coming to LCC anytime soon ?

I am not sure what the number is, but US can only "shrink" to a certain number of aircraft contractually. We are not that far from that number either.
If the contracts really are that restrictive, watch for management to start speaking French: Force majeure.

I'm not certain that I agree with it, but I am certain that legacy airline managers will claim that $130/bbl oil triggers force majeure clauses.

Locally the word 'outsourcing' is rearing its ugly head. LCC and another airline is mentioned. Just rumor? Stay tuned...

Mgmt pretty much does whatever they feel like doing anyway. I don't think our contract is going to stop them from trying. Remember when they changed the way we non-rev? It was a violation of all of our contracts. They even do things that aren't FAR legal until they get caught, or at least that's what is happening with the f/as. Every once in a while we get emails regarding a change in rest or schedule because US Airways wasn't following the rules.

US Crude dropped to $123.

Considering there is at least one carrier doing quite well, unless the current administration is morally bankrupt, Force Majeure would be somewhat difficult to hide under. Oh, wait. Did I say current administration and morally bankrupt? Like peas in a pod?
