BOS going 757 for international

Thats galley gossip from UAL. Hopefully by spring BOS will have its 777 back for LHR.

Perhaps the impending ATI with BA will "allow" the dependabilty to improve from the rumored 757 BOS-LHR to a future BA route with different equipment.

Nobody seriously thinks that AMR would reduce departure dependability so that future business opportunities could be realized: right?

Seriously; a stopped watch is right twice a day. With AA increasing average fares and some competition matching, do you think AA is having trouble filling seats?

For the past year, AA (and every other airline, including BA) has had trouble selling F and J fares. Demand for F and J is off by 20% to 50% depending on route. BOS and JFK to LHR are particularly hard hit.

BOS-LHR goes to a 75L in April; at least that's what is loaded right now.

Hope the demand for premium seats recovers before then.

Never going to happen. Not enough F demand. Not only because the premium market between Boston and London has been hit harder than anywhere else, but because the flight is so short, as short as 5 hours in the air with good tail winds in the winter, that passengers aren't willing to pay a premium for F on such a short route - a trend that is passing on to New York-London to, but hasn't quite hit LA/Miami-London yet.

Thats a serious drop in seats heading in to the summer travel season.

The word from our Regional this week was that 156/155 and 108/109 were going to th 75L but our 10pm seasonal flight 124/125 are staying a 763. Apparently CDG is coming back again next year also with a 75L.

Unfortunately, you are wrong FAMikey, my source was from A MNGR., at AMR, so just thought I would share.. Take your nasty hatred elsewhere. The sad part is, it is already loaded in your system as a 757. Get real.

I'm hoping that you can post about every AA equipment downgauge you find on the interwebs. It's very helpful information, since not everyone has the time to search all AA flights to see which are being downgraded. And so friendly, too.

Your welcome FWAAA, unfortunately thats not what i did, i was talking to a MNGR, and she mentioned and i checked it and thats it.. I know it bothers you, but being humble goes a long way.. try it!

There is a great thread about this on airliners.net..civil aviation forum. If you ever want some great insider information then this site is chock full of airline nerds who love to best each other on their superior knowledge of all things related to airlines.

AA is converting 18 of its many 757s into 75Ls. MAH4546 has already posted (on at least two other sites, if not this one) the likely routes that these 18 airplanes will fly. Probably will replace a 763 on as many as 15 or 16 assorted short-range European/northerly S American/Caribbean routes.

Hoping that someone will start a new thread each time they learn of a route that will be flown with the new 75L. 'Cause there's no chance someone would start such a thread just to wind people up. Nope, not a chance at all that someone would do that.
