I've checked several of my BOS-ORD/DFW reservations for the fall and have noticed the flights have changed equipment type from MD-80s (when they were ticketed) and currently show 737-800s. I'm glad to see AA is purchasing new aircraft to modernize the fleet. Where does AA fly MD-80s from BOS?

Too bad management decided to but BOS-SFO-I'm surprised they didn't downgraded the route to 738s before cutting it altogether. I take this route regularly and discovered it is being cut in November and will now be forced to fly Virgin America and United. On a more positive note, I also discovered the 767 is back on 5:00pm BOS-LAX and 7:30am LAX-BOS flight which I'm very, very happy about. :D

Any insight appreciated.

Typically, the schedule is loaded and narrow-body flights show as S-80. AA uses it as the schedule "place holder" till the equipment is finalized. Most likely, they never planned on those flights being on the 80.
