Breakthrough Event

Ours tend to be sycophants and ego-boosters. The good guys who want to make a positive contribution end up being disillusioned and even disgusted, as you mention.

They are almost a laughing stock.
And all the while, those pushing this stuff are the same people whose income is being supplemented by the union, and/or do not actually work at the airport anymore. So they have no credibility with the workers.
 
Today we had another "Breakthrough Event." It has been stated by those in the know that the million dollar hig-speed tractors we bought for DFW to eliminate maintenance taxing are not approved by the FAA for this airport because of the crossing of active runways. You would think that those in charge would check this stuff out before spending $6 million on tractors.

Thats the problem those in charge would rather spend 6 million to save 6 thousand.
In their minds they are still saving a buck no matter what the cost

Arpey and gang are always telling us to put the past behind us, yet they want us to perform like we did when we got Holiday pay, doubletime, full sick pay, full uniform allottment, our outlay for medical was a fraction of what it is now and our real net pay when adjusted for inflation was substantially higher.

They want us to not only forget what they took from us in the past but what they continue to take with every paycheck!!

Our response to them as far as reaching those goals, which are based upon the past should be "Forget the past".





A sidenote. Once again, as usual, our company union not only sits down to bargain away any chance of a snapback by granting the company concessions through productivity improvements without any quid-pro-quo for us but they are taking figures that the company provides as Gospel and preaching to the members exactly what the company wants them to. At Local 562 our Local President went around to all the shifts to preach about PLI with the area director of Maintenance sitting there keeping a watchful eye to make sure he did it right!!!

I guess that since the company pays these guys they are just making sure that they do what they want them to do.
 
In Tulsa, we now see Shop Stewards an "TEAM" members out to lunch and dinner with Supervisors and Managers on a regular basis. There is no UNION anymore in Tulsa, instead we have a pool of suckasses that cannot get enough management LUV.

Perhaps someone in TUL management saw that on a bathroom wall or a bumper sticker and now espouses it.
