What's new

Brrrrr... Its sure is cold.....

Hackman, ever listened to the d'upers (not sure about the spelling) we still sing their christmas song 😀 anyway, I am not a "tard" yes I did grow up in the North; however I have spent many years in what you would call redneck country and one does acclimate but you can never loose an appreciation of the beauty of winter. Now, your comment about hating unions I do not I dont not like what they have become nor what they have done to the American worker and the comment about being amfa to survive winter was from a past post you had made which was responded to by either Borescope or Robbedagain which said you didnt have to be amfa to survive the winter you only needed hi tech undies. You post which that person responded to insinuated that only the previous NWA mechs could handle it.
Not a 'tard Opie? Hmmm, well then, you must be DWT (drinking while typing) or impared by something. Its well known that many scabs have substance abuse problems, (such as drinking Budweiser before work), is that you buddy? Judging by this incoherent and inane post, case in point; "Now, your comment about hating unions I do not I dont not like what they have become nor what they have done to the American worker". Something is very a-miss here Opie. Are you working on NWA aircraft like this? Signing off log books or driving aircraft across active runways? I sure hope not. Help is available Opie, you just have to want it.

Well Hackman I was told it was minus nine degrees with a thirty mph wind. Yes it is cold certainly not good conditions to be changing an engine on a nine. I am dealing very well with the cold and doing the work. So much for AMFA's grand plan that all of us southern scabs will head south when it gets cold.

This is my first off-site job, I find it most interesting. With the number of out stations that we have to support I think Northwest needs to invest in a go-van. We are making do with what we have and the job is coming along quit well considering. I was told this job runs fourteen hours on a good day but I think it is going to take us more like twenty. We shall see.

Well 'Cods, its only December, and the Scab Air hero's have a few more months of winter to go, it looks like its going to be a nice cold one. Let's see how the Scab Air hero's are doing about say...April, then you can run your ignorant mouth and we will see how its going then.(I know you won't be able to control yourself until then).

That 20 hour scab engine change is with how many guys? Man thats a long time, we change MD80 engines daily with 3 guys in one 8hr shift. Make sure you read the manual 'Cods!!! (I wonder how many "spare" parts will be left over...glad no one I know is flying on it).

BTW 'Cods, did you move the family up to Detroitlet yet? I'm sure they will love it.

PTO,

Why don't you go to NY, or Philly, and (try) to cross the Subway Workers Picket line !!

Let me know how you make out !!!

There are three A&P's here and an inspector. I am so glad you guys are so much better than us. We have been on the job now for ten hours and sixteen minutes. There is one air duct left to install then this will be all but done as far as installation goes. Then we will trim the engine and call it done. The air duct I must say is kicking myass. As soon as my fingers thaw out I will attempt it once again.

Hey PTO try loosening the clamp on the opposite end and the duct will move more freely  BTW we do MD80 engine changes in 3 hrs. flat in tulsa with 3 guys and an inspector 😀

Tried that already. Got aggravated and pulled the whole damn thing apart. Its all together now. Next issue to resolve, some idiot used a commercial grade double stick tape to tape the inlet cover on. The shet will not come off. There is now a search going on for some plastic scrappers and acetone or MEK. I shall put a call in to MC and raise hell about this one.

No I have not nor do I think that I am. I'm going to see how this non-rev thing works out first. I went threw a lot of trouble getting the kids in their school plus I just refuse to sell my house. I will wait and see how things go first.

 They have to go get some acetone and scrappers from home depot! I think I'll play UNIONMAN and take a nap.

Damn 'Cods, I wonder who's playing husband while your napping on the job? Shameful 'Cods, your SUPERscab reputation will be lost if the man catches you asleep on the clock. When your scab hotel isn't free anymore (still free is it not?) your going to have to rent a room in some dump. There goes the 'Cods scab profits.

Tape residue is the last thing to call MC about, they don't care about your little problems or your frozen fingers. What they do care about is when the Scab 9 your attempting to repair is back in service. A 20 hour DC-9 engine change won't cut it. 😉

Tape residue isn't the word for it but you are probably right about MC not caring. So in the event if anyone happens to know the idiot at MSP that works in the engine shop and is responsible for shipping these engines please do let them know that PTO said he was a freaking....
