Hello all I hope someone can answer this question because International Rez agents can't. I am on a Paid Ticket in coach (T), I am an employee of US and would like to see about getting Business Class. There were a lot of seats available 20+ and I am traveling on the 24th of Dec.
134 ATL-JFK
78 JFK-TXL
Return on 31 Dec
117 STR-ATL
It would be great if someone could tell me exact loads in Business. I am not sure if DL allows OAL in a Business on a stand by basis. On know on US we charge $25 but that is rarely enforced, this includes OAL on non rev or full fare. If someone would like to upgrade me because of you love US Wink (No Hard Feelings) or if it is a bribe you need I am available for free upgrades on US, computer/website help or even cash. Email me! texaswebscout@gmail.com
Thank you, Ben

I'm not a ticket agent, so i may be completely wrong on this, but i was under the impression that Coach upgrades to Business weren't allowed on International flights. If there are any ticket agents on here feel free to chime in. As for the availability, it still shows 28 available in businesswith 2 non-revs listed from JFK-TXL. And 31 on the STR-ATL return flight on the 31st, also with 2 non-revs. Good luck with the upgrade.

Non revenue pax can get upgraded, but revenue tickets are not upgradable to DL employess or OA employees. A revenue ticket is subject to revenue ticket policies

The revenue tickets that can be upgraded are limited to certain clases of which T is not one of them.

When I did my internship at Mesa...I'd usually purchase revenue tickets on Delta and United and nonrevenue on US Airways...I couldn't upgrade on DL or UA without paying hefty fees.

I flew on UAL earlier this year on a revenue ticket. I identified myself as a US employee and asked about the upgrade. Even on US, I was told the same thing: If you (or I ) are on a revenue ticket, we are subject to the same as a non-employee - that is, a revenue ticket is bound by the upgrade rules/costs.
I have a revenue ticket on Singapore Airlines coming up. I'm sure it will be the same with them - I'll find out. 🙄

Correct--not upgradable for employee nor OAL employee w/paid tkt --what would be the point for any pax to pay for business or first class then? ? we could all buy cheap tkts and expect to move forward. It's supposed to be strictly enforced and I have seen crew members fined for doing it. Only once have I seen a captain authorize a gate agent to permit "unqualified" buddy nonrev pax forward--due to family death [capt was aware of situation].
