Busy couple of months for AMFA Organization's

Well, well, looks like our fellow Mechanics at UAL are FINALLY sick and tired of the lies, promises, and false guarantees made by the teamsters at UAL. UAL Mechanics have started a card drive for the Class and Craft AMFA Representation to replace the teamsters. I have been patiently waiting for this day to come, as I knew you all would see all the BS from the teamsters once they got in. Now you know why everyone else in the mechanics industry at airlines have fired the teamsters.
One more airline to add to the organizing list of airlines that have started card drives for AMFA Representation. I wish all my fellow mechanics @ UAL good luck in their endeavor to get AMFA Representation. Looks like the date of start is 10-16-22.

More and more airline mechanics in search for AMFA Representation:

Absolutely. Seeham ALWAYS has to find ways to charge the current AMFA dues paying members.

AMFA is nothing more than a SCAMFA for the Seeham Seeham Meltz and Peterson Law Firm.

Oct. monthly update is out. Busy, busy, busy for sure. Been a good year thus far for AMFA's growth and expansion.
Congrats to all the members that stepped up to get the transitions completed and on their way to nego's for sec 6 and new contracts.

Congratulations, Congratulations, Congratulations, Congrats, Congratulations, you tied your shoes, Congratulations.

And uh 🙄 the link to your PAC doesn’t go there. So where’s this PAC of yours? Frauds.

Is this the same update where they ask for dues from the Spirit AMTs without having even met with the company yet?
🤣

If the election at Spirit already took place, why shouldn't they be asking for dues?...

I think that some of you who have belonged to weak industrial unions like the TWU don't really understand what being in a union is supposed to be about.... why does a union who is supposed to be representing the airline industry also represent casino workers?... to keep dues flowing and support the overloaded fat cats that run the union. It's legal pyramid scheme once you have to start representing workgroups totally disconnected from your core mission.

Say what you want about AMFA raiding unions who've lost their way, but at least they've stuck true to their mission and only represented mechanics.

Because every union doesn’t collect dues till a first CBA is reached. SCAMA can’t legally enforce anything as they have no CBA and due to SCAMFA’s losing a lawsuit there is no status quo protection either.

E I keep trying to tell you that you haven’t been keeping up with the times. The TWU no longer represents anyone in the Gaming Industry. Even though the fact sheet still shows them they are now being represented by the UAW. The three Divisions in the TWU are now just Air, Rail and Transit.

And I honestly don’t think it’s you who really understands what being in a Union is all about. The main idea is to improve the quality of life for those who are banded together in one. It’s not about being exclusive but being inclusive. And that also doesn’t mean skills aren’t recognized. As an example I’ll make about $85,000 this year and an AMT who put in the same amount of time as me should make around $135,000. Well earned thanks to both the Company and the advocacy of the TWU/IAM Association.

Historically groups don’t pay dues until the Union who courted them gets them their first contract. Larger Unions who have the bank accounts cover that expense as an investment in improving the pay and benefits of those who joined. It’s ok if AMFA wants to ask for donations but I just don’t think it makes them look very good.

And BTW you seem to like going after the Union “Fat Cats” but you don’t seem to want to even broach the subject of asking questions about the Seham Seham Meltz and Peterson Law Firm being paid $130,000 for “AA Issues” last year from current AMFA dues members when they don’t represent anyone at AA? 🤔 Hmm?

You’re extremely Partisan and biased in who you’ll throw rocks at and who you don’t.

Dear Local 721 member,

The leadership of Local 721 has requested to be disaffiliated from the Transport Workers Union of America (TWU). Their request has been fulfilled. You are no longer represented by the TWU of America.

Disaffiliation is not something that the TWU takes lightly, and this course of action is unprecedented. However, our International Executive Council recognizes that this is an extremely unique situation. Foremost in our decision is that the casino industry is not among the core sectors where the TWU organizes.

With the disaffiliation having been granted, Local 721 members should strongly consider joining the United Auto Workers (UAW). Unlike the TWU, the casino industry in Las Vegas in directly in the core of the UAW’s focus and they will be a great fit for casino dealers. The TWU has invested several million dollars in support of Local 721 over the years and the UAW is committed to continuing the same type of support that only a national union is capable of.

The UAW is also a hugely important affiliate of the national AFL-CIO. It’s important that Local 721 remain part of the House of Labor and not be an island unto itself. I encourage you to vote “Yes” for UAW representation.

The TWU wishes you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

My guess is AMFA has never asked for any refunds from Lee Seham for any of the poor Legal work they have received over the years?

When do I pay dues?

In a newly organized workplace, workers pay dues only after there is a first union contract in place. It’s not up to the bargaining committee or management or union staff - the contract only goes into effect once it is ratified (voted on) by members. Why would you vote “yes” on a contract that isn’t worth the cost of dues?

If there is already a contract in place, anyone hired into a union position is covered by benefits and protections of the union contract from day one. Dues aren’t deducted until the worker signs paperwork that authorizes dues deduction and elects membership or fee paying status.

OK, the casino workers requested to be disaffiliated with the TWU... That's a pretty severe action.

Apparently things just didn't work out?...

Interesting how you leave that out of the list of TWU Successes... which is probably right up there with French Military Victories.

I’m not comfortable saying the reason outright but I will tell you that it was a mutual decision and, HINT: The Casinos are not under the RLA as a closed shop and Nevada is a Right to Work State. From my hint you should be able to figure out what the issue was?

On another note it’s very insulting how you only looked to grab something I gave you to try and spin it to your own advantage to bash the TWU. Maybe I shouldn’t even try to treat you with any respect?

You hate the TWU because by your own words “someone” within the TWU tried to get you fired. That means you’re emotionally compromised. Is the person who tried to kick you to the curb even with the Airline any longer?

eolesen? Did you miss this?

I believe the reason you don’t jump on this is because you know very well that the Mechanics under that “union” (AMFA) are being hoodwinked and are a far greater help for the Companies they represent then the members who pay them dues.

C’mon E fess up.
