Here's an update from the AMFA,s local 11 web site:

Local 11 would like to update the membership on the integration of the Airtran Mechanics into the Southwest Airlines Mechanics. In July, AMFA filed with the NMB for single carrier and single representative status. On 27 September, the National Mediation Board ruled, sort of… The ruling confirmed the M&E operations were considered a single operation, but the representation of the members still needs investigation (14 days for a challenging union to submit cards). Therefore, the representation of each group will not change until the NMB rules. “Existing certifications remain in effect until the Board issues a new certification.”

Any takers if the teamsters try to submit cards??

The IBT already went to SWA mechanics homes at the beginning of this whole thing to see if anyone was unhappy with AMFA.

Everyone I know has said they told the Teamster rep to beat it.

Oct 11th would be the full integration day if the IBT doesn't contest.... I don't suspect them to have the grounds or the balls to contest.

Where is the announcement? Here we are 2 days after the deadline of the 11th as the NMB put it. Wondering if maybe there was a protest. Any info? Anybody?

Here's a link to the NMB page so you can follow it. The united flight instructors when through the identical path as are from single operation to certification and it took them like 22 days total. I would expect the same for us so that would mean some time next week we will know something...
