Can I get an Amen!

I like to stay and make improvements to the contract. Some stay and accept the way things are without challenging some give up and leave. There are all kinds of people out there in USAirways land. You just have to believe in what you are doing and have passion something US management is/were lacking.

The jury is still out. There are still issues of transition that are not resolved.
We are still standing. NO AMEN YOU MAY BE SEATED YET

My question is,

Why are you so willing to sit back and accept the treatment all of us endured…??

Stand up and say enough is enough, management laughs at us.

Once again, they are NOT YOUR FRIENDS. Check your history.

Can I get a Amen..Brother

Oh Mark,

You remind me of the movie..." Bridge over the river Kwai".

You guys are Colonel Nicholson...at the end you realize what you have done.

SL....here is where we may differ. If I was as miserable as you appear to be at work, i would take steps to change my circumstances. There is a threshold we would all reach that we say enough is enough. Many have reached that point, many have not. Some people choose to stay and try to effect change. When change isn't forthcoming, they make the change for themselves.

So, you can either try to change where you are now - either by being involved with your union to try and make changes, or by seeking some other type of work that will make you happy.

Staying and being miserable....complaining constantly....spreading your misery.....is not healthy. Find your happiness dude!

You are either part of the solution or part of the problem.

Everyone will b!tch about their jobs, its human nature. But, what I don't understand is, this managment team has been in place since Oct...what excatly were you expecting?

This is now an LCC. This company, as previous HP, does not NEED to support their employees up to, and thru, retirement, and because they don't have to, and it is not cost effective, they wont, so don't hold your breath...

LCC = Low Cost Carrier, not low fare airline... The major expense to an airline before this oil crisis (dont even get me started on that sham) was employee costs... HP has always kept employee costs down to remain profitable, hence LCC. This is why we have no pensions we are loosing, and the CSR department actually had to be brought UP to the USair CSRs pay...I mean, you want to b!tch about pay? Try raising a family on 7.65/hr...

If you think sticking around is going to be enough to change things in the future, you are wasting your efforts, and should be updating that resume...

If you are not willing to be part of the solution, don't be offended when everyone you know goes out of their way to avoid you. Listening to a complainer every day is too exhausting..I get enough of that from the customers, I don't need it from my co-workers too...

Complaining does nothing, if you take no action other than running your mouth.

And back on topic, AMEN. I myself have always been disgruntled with pay. I do an exceptional job in my area, and truely believe I am worth more than I'm being paid, by anyone's standards. That said, I'm still here, doing my job, because I do it best. I keep my eyes open for a higher position which may yield more money, but $/hr can not replace job satisfaction, so I search carefully.. I have loved working for HP, even with my issues about pay, and I truely believe that working conditions will continue to improve, for all areas, hopefully that will lead to a better moral, and less SLs b!tching all day long about how much they have lost.

We get it already .the previous (several) management teams sucked. You got treated poorly. Will you not even give this managmeent team a chance? Do you expect the airline to be profitable and for you to have a 50% pay raise within 4 months?

You seem just as willing to accept this treatment by continuing to stay.

Sticking around got you a 5.00+ hr raise because your unions negotiate it for you. Stick around longer we will get more.

AFA's trademarked CHAOSâ„¢ employs carefully targeted strikes as part of its strategy. CHAOSâ„¢ stands for "Create Havoc Around Our System" and has been successfully employed by AFA at a number of other airlines. Actual strike targets are a closely-guarded secret.

COMPANY IN CHAOS -- After weeks of unsuccessful negotiations and three years without a contract, the Flight Attendants March 25 reached a tentative agreement with US Airways, hours after the expiration of a federally mandated 30-day cooling-off period. AFA US Airways Master Executive Council President Lynn Lenosky said members achieved a fair contract because they "displayed extraordinary solidarity and patience throughout four long years without a pay raise." Faced with AFA's CHAOS strategy ("Create Havoc Around Our System") for unannounced work disruptions, the airline had threatened to shut down operations and lock out its workers. The five-year pact awaits approval by the union council and ratification by the membership. Some 40 members of the UAW, Theatrical Stage Employees, Fire Fighters and Steelworkers held a vigil supporting AFA members at the Charlotte, N.C., airport from 7 p.m. Friday night until the 3:30 a.m. Saturday settlement announcement.

Amen to that........east has endured this for how long now?? Years and years and years. There is no magic wand. It took that long to screw things up, it's going to take time to correct it. PATIENCE, please.

I’m gonna make a prediction…

This Parker guy….will be back to the employees in 15 months for more concessions.

With the airline industry is still in trouble, fuel being the biggest cost now…What would happened if a true LCC were to come to let’s say CLT ..??

U’s key market share cannot shrink, it must grow to offset the cost of fuel.

U’s not out of the woods yet. My judge shall be in reserve…

I’m still pissed off.

The Aircraft Mechanic’s Creed

UPON MY HONOR I swear that I shall hold in sacred trust the rights and privileges conferred upon me as a certified mechanic. Knowing full well that the safety and lives of others are dependent upon my skill and judgment, I shall never knowingly subject others to risks which I would not be willing to assume for myself, or for those dear to me.

IN DISCHARGING this trust, I pledge myself never to undertake work or approve work which I feel to be beyond the limits of my knowledge nor shall I allow any non-certified superior to persuade me to approve aircraft or equipment as airworthy against my better judgment, nor shall I permit my judgment to be influenced by money or other personal gain, nor shall I pass as airworthy aircraft or equipment about which I am in doubt either as a result of direct inspection or uncertainty regarding the ability of others who have worked on it to accomplish their work satisfactorily.

I REALIZE the grave responsibility which is mine as a certified airman, to exercise my judgment on the airworthiness of aircraft and equipment. I, therefore, pledge unyielding adherence to these precepts for the advancement of aviation and for the dignity vocation.

I loved my old job years ago working at a bank but the company treated us horribly. I left. I loved my job working at a health insurance company but they merged with another company and the working conditions became horrible as they cut our pay, vacation and imposed new work rules. I left. Ya see, we DO have choices. We as employees of US across all work groups have been through a lot here and not treated all that well over the years by management. I choose to stay because I can only hope for a brighter future here. All we have is hope. If someone really hates the company that much, how could they stay? That can't be a very good feeling showing up for work everyday thinking to ones self..."how I hate this F#$%ing place". I love what I do here and hope we never have to endure what we all have gone through again. Some really need to check out and give the out of work person the ability to come back to US and work and do what THEY love to do as well.
