Candidates for Change

As for the union hall, as president he did have the power to make that decision. Make a motion to remove that power if you have an argument with it.

That is patently UNTRUE.

The President does NOT have that power.

The EXECUTIVE BOARD does have that power.

I do know that most E-Board members like to blame Burchette and hide from the new union hall issue, and you must be listening to them without the facts. The truth is the MAJORITY of the current E-Board voted to build that Taj-Mahal with so many cost overruns the current Sec. Treasure plans to NOT seek re-election for that position.

Correct me if I am wrong Bill, by posting your version of the By-Laws or Constitution that gives the President that authority. Article, Section and Paragraph will do.

Ken, I'd be willing to bet you don't even know Burchette. Maybe in passing, but not enough to make claim that you know what he is for and not for.
Ken, to refresh your memory, Dennis was the guy in the pickup truck that tried to run us over across the street from the base. :mf_boff:

Either I'm 180 out in my thinking or Bill is 180 in his.

Burchette admitted everytime he goes to the maintenance facility he gets his a$$ chewed out.

Most people, myself included, feel as if the 514 pissed their pants and gave away the farm in 2003. Now the corporate robber-barons are counting their millions and we'll be sacrificing for years and years. To be honest we'll never be able to get back what the 514 gave away in 03 and the majority of the membership knows it.
To go around telling the membership they will is pure bs. The 514 is hoping the membership will bite on another line of ####.

No way was the membership was about to reward the 514 with a new union hall after their poor performance in negotiations. That hall was founded on trickery.

Maybe we can think of a few slogans for free shirts to fool the membership with...

Will strike if the company tells us too

An injustice to one is an injustice to all but next contract there will be more justice-trust us.

I have never met the man in person. He did have the oportunity, as did the twu "spokesman" kirk "to the doors and stop!" wells, at the Brady Theatre. However, he did not show up. He did send a rented coffin and some folks NOT in my craft & class to shout from across the street.

I do however have an e-mail from that "strong union man" burchette that simply states, "Bite Me!". This was his answer when I called him a sell out for accepting our last Pre-concession contract. If you wish I can post it.

Wait! burchette is for something I know about. He is all for putting his hands in the company's pockets. I can't wait to hear about your "strong union man" going into management.

If you feel burchette is such a strong union man then explain for all why he voted to build a hall not wanted. While you are on it explain why he could care less for the Line guys. (This should be good. 😉 )

Oh yes. That must be the sign of a "strong union man". 😉

By the way, does anyone know if this "strong union man" will attempt to be re-elected? Perhaps kirk "to the doors and stop" wells can be his campaign manager. Just don't put him in charge of writing any checks. 😉

Almost forgot about this one. So my wording wasn't exactly clear, the Local Bylaws and the International Constitution gives the President with the concurrence of the Board the power to make this sort of expenditure. The membership can, of course overrule them, but the decision of the Board was read to the membership, the minutes of that meeting were approved and no resolution to overturn or disapprove the decision of the Board was passed or even made.

You cry and moan about this union hall but did you go down to the hall and disapprove the decision??? I didn't think so. NONE of you whining about the new union hall did I bet! It is just something else for you to complain about.

Why didn't you or should I ask why DON'T you file charges???

No I didn't go Bill.

They didn't like the t-shirt I was wearing and would not let me in. Commie Ba$tards do not believe in free speech either.

YES there was a resolution to overturn the vote of the Board, in fact the resolution to approve building the new union hall was voted down three times by the membership and you know it!

Please quote the exact Article and Paragraph of the Constitution and By-Laws that read the way you claim.

I enjoy watching the TWU stoolies use any available procedure to override the will of the membership, and then blame the member for not filing charges, or protesting the dictators. Damn, Bill most members believe that 3 votes against the union hall was enough, and that a watchdog committee would not be needed to keep the leaders in line. Of course, anyone with involved experience with the TWU knows this the standard method of operation.

Maybe we should ask Joe Hasen's old girlfriend?
