So do tell what will they cut from PHL to do this. US has no extra/new aircraft, correct?

Aren't there two more 332s coming early next year?

IIRC, the next A332 deliveries are in 2013. Only A320 family in 2011 and 2012. But I haven't looked it up to be sure.

Werent they getting more of the 757s fitted for overwater? DUB could be a 757 from both CLT and PHL and that would free up a 767 for MAD. Or they could run an island plane with a 320 family that would also free up a 757.

I thought that between upgrading them to ETOPS and reducing the size of the 757 fleet by 50% they were all ETOPS capable at this point. But I could be wrong.

That is correct Jim.

The next A332s won't be delivered until 2013 as it stands now; there will be 12 A320 family aircraft deliveries in the back half of next year. Originally it was scheduled to be a mix of A320/321 aircraft though I have since heard that they will all be A321s (don't quote me on that part of it!).

You are right again. All of the remaining east B757s are ETOPS (15, IIRC).

There's a big article in the Charlotte Observer this morning. Front page...Section B.

They plan on operating the flights starting in May but only for the summer. Dublin starts May 6 and ends Sept 30. Madrid starts May 4 and ends Oct 29.

The Dublin flight will be operated on the 757-200 and the Madrid flight on the 767-200.

You are correct 12 A321's next year but they are replacing the last 12 west 737-300's.

So with the East Flying a B757 PHX-HNL, maybe just maybe it will be flown with a West B757 ? I do know that the East and West B757's are Config'd differently, but do you think they may throw the West Pilot Group a Bone ?

I wasn't going to post in this but feel I need to. While all of this sounds exciting, I just wish it were possible for everyone to have a "sneak peak" behind the scenes with the European flights we now have. CLT (as it is now) just doesn't have room for these flights. They REFUSE to give enough staff to work these flights. Employees are getting injured trying to load all of these bags while working short staffed. The current bag belt is SO over loaded with bags it's not unusual for it to break then you have a real cluster. Not enough pods most days. The people in Tempe need to wake up.

It cannot be flown by an east crew in a west 757. Has nothing to do with configuration. It has all to do with the Transition Agreement.
