apparently the company didn't want to pay for more than $1000 towards our company party in clt, and so they needed to sell tickets at $20 each.

Everyone's so piss broke that it never happened and we ended up getting NO party.

I heard that LAS had theirs at Paris Las Vegas.

I'm very interested to see if any other stations had company sponsored parties.
As US's largest hub, you would think that we would have gotten something.....

disappointing 🙁

LAS's party at Paris was at Paris last night and I heard it was alot of fun, but I did hear that they had to pay $15 for LAS based employees and could bring one guest for $15 $40 for non LAS based employees. Since everybody likes to party in Vegas, I'm sure they had no problem raising the money from non based employees. I've heard the different office departments have had to contribute towards holiday parties as well.

Sorry to hear you guys arent having a party. You're welcome to come to ours, but you'd have to fly down and its still $15.00.
Our employee committee asked for part of our Station Incentive Fund money to be used to pay for the ballroom and the band.
Our Station Employee Fund and ticket sales will be used to cover the food (prime rib buffet catered by Sam Seltzers) and the prizes. We are charging $5 for employee ( its for both the party and to be entered into the prize drawing or just the prize drawing if you cant come to the party). Each employee gets to bring 1 guest for $15. Retirees/their spouses, non TPA based US employees (commuters) and oldtimers who have been furloughed/quit in the past are $15. Everyone else is $25.

You're welcome to come to Carol's retirement party at the Coraopolis Crowne Plaza in PIT. She is retiring after a wonderful 40 year career with Allegheny/USAir/USAirways. She said she would never commute the first time I flew with her (husband hunting) on the Fokker F27 --- and bless her heart she meant it. We have a buffet set up followed by dancing and drinks in the lounge (NOT - I REPEAT - NOT AN OPEN BAR). The Crowne Plaza has been nice enough to offer a discount rate if you want to spend the night. It should be a hoot! And at $15 a person, I think it is better than any party this American West merger management would throw. For more information, please contact our PIT Party Planning Committee chair, Angela.

Please tell me it's Carol Austin!!!!!!! Probably not....

In PHX, we only have an Union X-mas party for pilots and fa's, sponsered by our Pilots's Alpa chapter. Corporate, I have no idea what kind of party they hold. NO union allowed.

Ok LAS did have a HOLIDAY party, $15 per person plus a guest anyone else $40. It was on 12/11 and over 1,000 attended. Rooms were discounted at Paris and Ballys. However LAS is a 24 hr station and the party was from 6 to midnight so night shifters and graveyards missed out. Several employees have gotten upset over the prices and few senior agents are starting to show. Full buffett from 7-10. The employee fund from the vending machines is suppose to pay for the most of it but rumor has it the company actually profitted off the employees this year due to high turnout at the door approx 300. The drink prices were vegas style $6 domestic beers $7 imports and $9 cocktails, it was cheaper to go inside to a hotel bar than to pay for it at the ballroom. However no fights this year, there was always atleast on or two the years before.

Prior to being furloughed, my former station never had any type of a party that was paid for by the company in any way. We used to have a picnic, and a Christmas party each year, and both were funded 100% thru the employee fund. The employee fund generated it's revenue thru a few vending machines, and a 50/50 raffle. Even after this there was still a minimal charge to each of us based on how much the employee fund had to spend. About the only thing that the manager and sales guy did were to contibute a few door prizes each year.

No wonder the company feels so bad and feeds us on the holidays. We don't even get the pathetic xmas ornament anymore?? Bummer. I trully miss that orange and teal lava rock!!

I really respect and appreciate all the professionals I work with at the airline. Almost without exception, the employees at USAirways (at least those that this pilot has contact with at work) are great to be around and work with.

However, I am extremely grateful that this is an industry where attendance at the "office Xmas party" is not required or expected.

God Bless All of You, my fellow employees, but I spend enough time during the rest of the year with you, and I enjoy it. At Christmas time, I would rather spend every free moment with my family and non-airline friends. I thought everyone would.

I can only assume Santa pays a visit with all his reindeers, with trinkets for the kids from Neiman Marcus and piles of cash for the Execs, a Live Nativity Play entertaining the Corporate Elite (to impress the Onlookers with the sense of "Religious Sensitivity") and of course Food and DRINK a plenty.......afterall Doug will be there. What they should serve is that damn calzone.........DEPLETE The Supply and subject the Corporate "THINKERS" to what the F/C customers have had to gag on. (They probably would be sending the "LITTLE PEOPLE" COAL but you are getting a Holiday meal........and you aren't getting both.  )

It was $20.00 last year in CLT, too. Buffet was scheduled to end at 10 pm, the same time the evening shift was getting off work but they still had to pay the $20.00 bucks.

I truely believe the "Pope" cares about the employees in CLT, but I have to believe she is at the mercy of America's Worst (and cheapest) Airline management team.
