I am probably going to get blasted for saying this, but: I have never heard of a company CHARGING their employees to attend the company Christmas party. Guests, fine....but employees?? Let me guess: Cash bar? :down:
BAAWWHWHWHWHWHAAAA , yeah, i was waiting for a fa to crack on clt for that....we are BAD....domestic side is anyway.... you so funny!Ladies, why are we complaining about a cash bar? You know Debbie, Floyd, Gloria and I would stock you up on mini's that you could take with you to the party--I mean ya'll are so good to us with settling seat dupes, keeping an eye out for too many (or too large) carry-ons, and greeting us with a waiting jetway.
Not sure what is going on at HQ, but those at CNA have to pay $25 per person for a offsite dinner no alcohol allowed. REV ACCTNG held 50/50 raffles and an employee garage sale to generate money for the party, half the money from the raffle went to the party fund and one lucky winner won a gift card for the other half of the amount that was raised at each raffle. The employee garage sale, I didn't actally go but I heard they were selling old office supplies. So, basically these employees had to pay for their party too just in a really cheesy way.I can only assume Santa pays a visit with all his reindeers, with trinkets for the kids from Neiman Marcus and piles of cash for the Execs, a Live Nativity Play entertaining the Corporate Elite (to impress the Onlookers with the sense of "Religious Sensitivity") and of course Food and DRINK a plenty.......afterall Doug will be there. What they should serve is that damn calzone.........DEPLETE The Supply and subject the Corporate "THINKERS" to what the F/C customers have had to gag on. (They probably would be sending the "LITTLE PEOPLE" COAL but you are getting a Holiday meal........and you aren't getting both.![]()
)
Our company Christmas party is this evening. They tent the main parking lot, and set up an area for photos and fake gambling (for raffle tickets). They also raffle off trips to exotic locations, like Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Alcohol is free flowing, and they even have the top executives bartending in 30-minute shifts. I have already told 2 of the "bartenders" (who are sharing the 4:30-5:00 shift) that they will have to "fight" over who is going to serve me! I would have them both serve me.....but I just did 5 Jello shots at our department potluck lunch, and I'm feeling a bit buzzed!
I think if US has a "suggestion box," someone should suggest that next year the Sandcastle throw a Christmas party which is FREE to the employees, with an open bar, and Doug, Scott, Travis, etc. bar-tending!!! Well....maybe not Doug!
And speaking of which: They provide free taxi vouchers so those who have had too much to drink can get home safely.
the last several in the ballroom of the Crowne Plaza, and always a full open bar (long lines) and GREAT prizes,
they probably couldn't do that this year because Gloria Holtz is planning Carol's retirement party and PIT farewell gala and she booked the Crowne Plaza...she organized a buffet and then dancing at the lounge. Drop Gloria your AOL if interested. $15 per person.
