As we all know the elections are coming up. Was wondering if people could post who is running and for what.
And if people know the person is running... Campaign for them here so people who don't know the person have an idea what they bring to the table.

Like with the last election in Congress... Ann and Glenda gotta go. Nothing but lip service! And anyone who doesn't know both the blockholder and reserve contract... forget about it. We need people who are more in contact with those of us out here on the line. New blood... can't do any worse than what we have now.

Cathy Cambell is running for LECP and John Humpries for VP.

Both excellent, dedicated and educated folks.

One can only hope that CLT takes the bull by the horns and votes good representatives who can stand up for the f/as, stand up to the MEC, and the likes of John MCCorkey and Mike F. to balance out the power and influence the negotiations at the table.

We definately need a change in CLT. I agree with you on those choices. Strong dedicated people. Let the ones who are in there now come back on line and introduce themselves to the CLT f/a's, many of whom, feel neglected and forgotten. It would really show some balls if they came out and bid rsv, just to see how bad it is. But we know that would never happen. I'm going "ABA"= Anybody But Ann. I might make some buttons up and distribute them. We need solidarity down here, along with a voice for all the people.

Well with an endorsement from someone like PITbull... sounds like if CLT was smart they will be taking her advice. I don't know John.. but I have to agree with Cathy Campbell as a GREAT choice for LEC Prez. For those of you who don't enjoy having to take their 24 hr rest out of base when having to do one of those many red-eyes we now have to LAS.... I know that Cathy was pretty much shut up by current administration. I for one would rather have my 24/7 rest IN BASE... or at least have the layover in LAS or where ever @ MY OPTION!!!

And for those of you on Reserve in CLT... and I know the list is many. When Cathy was RSV Chair, she ALWAYS got back to me to answer a question. AND KNEW BOTH RSV and BLOCKHOLDER CONTRACTS!!!

Can't say the same for the current....

While i agree pitbull did a lot and knows a lot and seems to have our best interests at heart, I can't forget she put P.H. in as MEC (finally corrected before leaving though). I also think change would be good for CLT but I hope everyone will listen to all the new candidates and make up their own minds. We need a very strong pro union get us the best contract possible leader, period.

It doesn't matter who's running as long as viable change takes place. We are entering a new era in OUR airline. Getting a usable contract is paramount before all else. The new LEC Pres. will have one vote as well as all the rest of the bases to make a decision. It will be up to the negotiating committee to present a contract that each base pres. will have to approve or dis-approve. If it is approved then it will be sent to F/A's to get voted on.

One base doesn't make or break the airlines flight attendant union. Change took place in PHL. Change hopefully will take place in CLT. Unless we change our mental picture on what is important, utilize our power to vote, get involved with the union by going to meetings, volunteering to serve on a committee, and making your ballots count, then CLT will succome to the same.

PHL is the largest base, with CLT a close second. Trying to bring balance is not as important as bringing change. We can no longer voice the statements "just don't take anything else away", or, "I don't care what they do as long as I have a JOB", or, "Those people up North will ruin this airline".

Folks, the company made over 500 million dollars last year. A great deal of that was the work and effort of the most front line employee's - F/A's. We help keeping them coming back. We deserve a larger piece of the pie.

Just my opinion...

Remind everyone you meet to VOTE!! Also if they did not receive a nomination ballot they will not receive a voting ballot and will need to contact AFA.

Election will open on March 28 and close on April 18. Everyone please vote!!!! Agree that we do need a change in CLT. Time for new blood in office!

I'm not even based in CLT but someone told me that if I needed GOOD advice to contact Cathy. She was amazing. She contacted claims on my behalf and got me paid for what my own LECP told me I wouldn't get paid for.

She's a very sharp F/A and knows both the B/H and RSV side. She truly has the interests of ALL F/As at heart. She even got in trouble for helping me out because I was from another base. Just my opinion but if you want someone to represent you, she's the one.

A "westie" here and having worked with John in the past on some union business, I'm excited to see he is running.
It was truly a pleasure to work with him. He was very professional, very hard working and just a wealth of knowledge. Not sure if he reads/posts here, but if he does...Good luck John.

I can feel a good storm brewing in CLT. You can feel it out on line. It's great to hear we might have a change in CLT, finally. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate some of the things the current leaders have done, but resent the fact that every RSV is still miserable. Our local voice needs to be rejuvenated. And it looks like that might be happening. Keep talking to your fellow crewmembers and get the word out. ABA.

The following people are running.
President
Ann Crowley
Cathy Campbell
Debra O'Conner

Vice President
Glenda Talley
John Humphrey
Kathy Hofmann

Secretary/Treasure
Beth Carpenter
Nena Scott
Cathy Flores

Council Rep
Lucy Mosby
Mary Ann Thomas
Lisa Heim

[Jbragg, I know for a fact that you have never tried to contact the new reserve chair, so you can't say whether or not he knows his contract. He does by the way. As for Cathy Campbell as President. That would be a miserable mistake. Anyone who knows her, knows that she is several french fries short of a happy meal. Kathy was removed because she was giving out wrong information and has aggravated the company so much that they will no longer talk to her. She is the one giving lip service. She gives the appeareance that she is doing something, yet nothing changes.

If you and Cathy Campbell are so concerned about what is going on, then why were none of you at the meeting today at the training center with the President of US Airways?? All of the current AFA members were there and stood up to try to take up for the people who are getting displaced. The Reserve Chair had quite a speech to make. So before you start writing information, you need to know what you are talking about. Watch the meeting on the on the Web cast on the hub. I think you might find it informative and maybe it will change your mind about the current union represenatives in CLT or at least enlighten you. From my knowledge and experience with everyone holding office, they all know the entire contract, and have always been very helpful to me. They do care about the reserves and their livelyhood. If you truely wont representation in the next term, Cathy Campbell is not the person to represent CLT. You will truely be sorry for that decision....

Now Ann are you feeling the heat so much that you would say such Nasty things. Very disappointed that you would stoop so low. We all know that you do not know the reserves contract....and after all of the time you have been in office you should know the whole contract by heart.

I'll be looking for that webcast ... and GOOD for THEM, the JUNIOR members have NEEDED support from the AFA leadership for many years now ... interesting that CLT is stepping in NOW during a third round of displacements ... In any event, "we must all hang together, or we will surely hang alone" ... someone said that, sometime, I think ...
