Appears someone is doing funny business. Wonder who is going to get in trouble for this going missing? Anyone in catering didnt show up for work today?

"CBP officers routinely conduct random inspections of international flights that arrive from all over the world searching for narcotics, unreported currency, or other prohibited items."

Which means that 95% of the other "Coke cans" get through just fine. And for the traffickers, this amazing discovery by CBP is just part of the cost of doing business.

I know its random, but now that they know they are smuggling things this way, it will force them to either take a chance and hope they dont select the flight its coming in on or find another way to get it in. I wouldnt be surprised if the MBJ flight now gets "randomly" selected much more.

Random?
Just so nobody thinks I'm giving some sort of security secret out, years ago there was a show on a TV news magazine like 20/20, Primetime, etc. The show was about how African-Americans were being stripped search by customs. Soon it was found that it was happening to many others from different races. The reasons it was concluded was that they were returning from a 'drug' nation such as the Netherlands, Jamaica, Columbia, etc.

Ah yes. Drug smuggling.

Back in the day a runner picked up a light expedite bag that smelled of coffee. Reasoning the coffee was to mask the smell of drugs he opened the bag and stole the coke. No not really. He called the most clueless supervisor on the ramp and they called the law. Out of curiousity the law had a drug dog sniff the bag and he liked it.

They popped the bag and found, Oh my God, expresso.

Don't forget boys and girls coffee is a drug and we must not poison our minds.

About six months later the keen-nosed runner was busted for dealing cocaine. If you can't catch 'em, join 'em.

Wait... do we know of this can was found on a passenger, or found in the galley? I am assuming it was in a pax carry on, not necessarily stocked in the galley?

You're not supposed to be able to carry liquids on so unless someone after security in MBJ gave it to someone to bring to the US, it was probably stocked in the galley. I'm surprised they didnt wait to see who picked it up, unless of course they already have a clue about that.
