Coming to a billboard near you?

No reply huh L4PI. Seems that you speak with a forked tongue! I guess that would be "typical" of an airline customer with NO LIFE!
As I have said before it was pointed and meant to be. The poster it was in response to deserved that and more. But then you, like so many others here would not bother to take the time to look up that post, would you?

Another bitter employee?

etops1-It's nice to see you still post on the DL board. I, for one, will no longer read (or post) any comments on the USAirways board regarding the merger. More than one person over there has stated they don't want us over there. So much for DL people being the "nasty" ones.
why wouldn't i ? and as for the posters who stated that they do not want delats people over there, please do not listen to them. they do not run boards. the moderators do.

God love ya, L4P. You are exposed as a fraud, and all you can do is call us "bitter" and "sour" US employees. How can I be sour when I have so much fun?!! We all have our defense mechanisms, I suppose.

How much, all told, have you spent on your billboards so far? Keep us posted, and thank you for your continued "support" of US employees.

I had a lay-over in ATL and my crew and I saw the employee buses with the HUGE "Keep My Delta Mine" all over it. We couldn't stop laughing--sorry...it was hysterical. Can't wait to see it on the side of the planes!
I think they should put the Keep Delta My Delta on those little urinal cakes in the mens room at the PHX,PHL, and CLT airports, if not systemwide. Not for nothing, but I bet the people that invented those things are millionaires.

If it makes you feel better, go ahead. Not much different than what will happen if DP gets his way.

Just my two cents worth ..... IV worked for Piedmont Airline / US Air / UA Airways and now the new US Airways/America West. Doug Parker and Scott Kirby are doing an excellent job. The airline seems truly well managed again. Reminds me of my Piedmont days. Brings back good memories of such leaders as Tom Davis, Bill Howard, Gordon Bethune. Yes we did take some hard knocks while in BK, and many employees bailed out for greener pastures. The odd thing though is that the best employees stayed. The front line employees that remained are the ones that truly love what they do. With good leadership the sky is the limit.

I don't understand what all the Delta employee fuss over this merger is about. Delta will keep her name. It basically eliminates the US Airways name and places all of her great assets under the Delta flag, something Delta has been trying to do for years. Your CEO is ready to retire and the Parker, Kirby team is outstanding????

It's been rehashed endlessly on this board but here are the main reasons in my opinion:

It will:

- Result in fewer jobs as we have almost complete route overlap.

- Increase the DL employees time in BK by a year or more when they were ready to exit.

- Create instability by adding two unmerged groups of employees to our 45000 employees.

- Add massive debt to our bottom line. Debt that was used to buy us.

- Drive more mergers with us being left in the weakest one.

- Leave a vacuum of divested routes for competitors to step into. Ready made markets for them.

I'm glad you are happy with Parker and friends but the only thing I can see they have accomplished so far is get financing for the deal. The heavy lifting was done at US before he got there and is done at DL now. Your employee group is not close to integration. This is no time for another merger.

Our product direction is completely different. We have very talented individuals onboard who have led this restructuring. We don't need or want anyone to come in a take over a job that's done. Unless, perhaps Gordon is available. It's kind of like you waiting for me to fix up my classic 67' Fastback then stealing it from me. I spent a ton of time and money on it but you're the one driving it.

There is no reason for any DL employee to be in favor of this deal and very little reason for any US employee to be. It would be a mess for years to come.

I think it's time to ban the word "Piedmont" as in airline. We'll refer to Piedmont as that region in Italy; a much more pleasant thing to think of than hillbillyairlines.

Lets see .... Deltas stand a lone plan has been and continues to be to use Comair to steal traditional US Airways markets until she goes out of business and 100% of her employees end up on the street. Then Delta cherry picks and grows much bigger ....

The merger combines DL/US and reduces the new Delta about 10%. I think the merger works just fine for US Airways employees.

Time will tell ......

I think in the end it will work out good for ALL employees!

You're just repeating false claims from people who don't want this to happen and are saying anything to sell their point.

There will be no layoffs period. None. Zero. If you have a job today you will have one after the merger. Except for a few management positions that do not need duplication and these people will be well compensated.

The new merged DL will emerge from BK by mid 2007.

The integration of HP and US will be done before we integrate US-DL. In fact, the entire merger process is well ahead of plan. It was initially a 3 year forecast which will now be done in less than 2 years.

The debt carried by the merged carrier will be less in proportion to size as the stand-alone DL would have.

Further consolidation may or may not happen but what is done will be limited by the DOJ. Doubtful the new DL would be the weakest airline.

Competitors will take over a few duplicate routes which is good and necessary for the merger.

Bottom line, is the new DL will be a stronger, more stable company after it merges with US.If DL tries to stand-alone, it will struggle to be profitable and may face another round of BK in a couple of years. Nothing against DL, but the industry has shown it cannot survive with business as usual. DL's new plan is business as usual, it needs to look in another direction and Doug and company are paving the way. If you don't want US, then look for someone else.

Im never going to airline or people bash ..but wouldnt Ua be a much better merger partner for lcc or Dal? Imho if i was the Ceo of lcc or Dal i would be speed dialing Ua's Ceo.....let's just hope that regardless of the outcomes we have each get to stay employeed Merry Christmas to you all.
