Two year contract with NO RAISES Two year pay freeze
$3100 bone-us after first year
$2500 bone-us after second year
One more sick day for a total of six
All sick days at full pay
3 of the five vacation days a year returned to be used as "floaters"
2 holidays with Holiday pay at 2x

So in other words nothing.

Last year inflation ran at over 7%. If anything it will be even more over the next two years. We are already around 40% behind our 2002 rate. This would put us at around half pay by 2010.

Still dont even know what we asked for.

Bob,

I've had a strong feeling of late, that ..NO raises/Bonus's WAS the way that they would go.

Just like contract...95'

Inflation >7% in 2007 ? In the USA? Are you sure about that? I thought that in 2007 inflation was ~2-4% for most of the year, and this year is so far running at ~4%.

Doesn't sound much like the 2001 contract - anything other than that gets a no vote from me.

I know this is a waste of the energy needed to type it, but I can't help myself. Any negotiation by any union on property should include a "me too" for the executives--pay cut for the employees=pay cut for the executives; no raises for employees=no raises for executives; no bonusses for employees=no bonusses for executives.

IS THAT SNICKERING I HEAR IN THE BACKGROUND?

That's just plain unrealistic. This industry has undergone radical and permanent change in the last decade. Costs are higher, fares are lower and any gains you want in your contract are going to have to be paid for somehow - i.e. by an increase in productivity.

Not trying to rain on the TWU parade here, but people have to understand that the game has changed. 2001 is in the past and it's going to stay there.

<_< ------- Sorry FrequentFlyer, not this time! The well is dry! It's your turn to pay now, not ours!!!! Now this is reality!!!The general public has had a free ride for TOOOOO long! You can't expect us to subsidize cheap fares any longer!

Depends on the index.

For 2007, the national CPI-U was up 4.1% and the national CPI-W was up 4.3%

Specific to Bob Owens, NYC CPI-U was up 3.7%; NYC CPI-W was up 4.0%

<_< ------- FW, As you know, the two largest things the government leaves out of their calculation of inflation are "FUEL", and "FOOD"! The two things that drive this economy are deliberately left out!

We've been several billion dollars more productive under the concessions and the promises of work harder and we'll reach into the companies pockets and get your money back. Any more productivity increases will require a large pay increase, afterall my game has changed to, my costs have gone up greatly and their not going away either. Time to raise fares and no longer have the employees subsidize the traveling public.

I agree with jimntx on the "me too" clause but, I doubt that will ever happen.

My prediction...

APFA, APA and TWU will all be on strike (may not be the sametime) within the next 3 years.

Under Little there will be no strikes with the TWU, Little will give any concession(except the Union Security Clause and checkoff) before he would call for a strike.

AA owns the TWU.
