Who you calling "babe"? I'm a guy. If you are a guy are you a little ee-er-ee-er? It's okay if you are, of course. That's your business. Live and let live.
What, no welcome to the board? You one of those homophobes on the ramp there in PHX? Wow, thought most of America (west  ) was over that by now. But nothing implied, sorry to insult you. I will try to keep my (FA) hands off all the sexy rampers in PHX... 🙄

Homophobe? I said I was okay with your lifestyle. I'm cool. Jesus loves all of his children.

Oh, I see. Just like Piney, you see the rampers out the window and that makes you a freakin expert on all things ramp.

I'm sure I would not be welcomed on the ramp in PHL as I am sure it would be open season on the Westie who had the gall to come onto their turf. dee dee dee That and I have zero patience for lazy scumbags who don't want to work and do everything half-assed. I would accept no amount of money to work in that rat's nest.
Obviously you didn't comprehend anything that I wrote. I have been defending the ramp. The only negative comment I made was to the fact that I have sat on a plane full of people for hours at the gate waiting for bags to be off loaded and reloaded. I know why it takes so long, they are so grossly short staffed as well as short on equipment.

Never say never, you only have 20yrs, that may not be enough seniority for you to continue to hold PHX once they have mergered agreements. I am not going to continue to engage in this conversation with someone who feels the need to bash their coworkers simply because they are working in the largest, most profitable hub this airline has. They do the best they can with the tools that are provided by this management, just like the rest of us. Just like you said, you won't go to PHL to work even for the pay increase, you might actually have to work a little harder, and not soak up any sun. Instead you can shovel a path thru the snow for the tug to get thru to park the plane. Sound like fun?

Interesting, 4 of those consultants are ex-USAirways people. and one of them is an ex AFA person.

Interesting offshoot of Ford/Harrison, one of the best Labor (ProManagement) firms in the US....

Yea. I wonder what the group cost

Most contradictory post, within itself, I have read in quite a while.

It is like a homophobic initial response, then a "whoops" and attempt at recoup, real time. Even though you took on a feminine name, "barbee...." you object to someone calling you babe, a term in the 21st Century similar to honey.

But, you have not kept up, have you?

I am called babe by the person I share my life with. So, what is _your_ problem? Babe.

Perhaps you are so afraid of appearing effeminate that you wipeout at the mere suggestion of such a path, unknowing that you are simply projecting your own emotions, easily read by just about anyone.

baby.

They left out he is such a big piece of corporate slime you would have to sell your house if you found him in your bathtub.

That would get him some bigger money.

As for looking out the window, when I see a guy on a Tug reading the USA Today when a plane is waiting to be marshalled to the gate what kind of perception do you think that creates when a customer on that flight has to wait an hour for their bags????
My first perception would be that the individual was waiting for the aircraft to be parked at the gate and the cargo hold doors opened prior to positioning the Tug for offloading. Hard to load or unload an aircraft not at the gate.
Second perception: The individual can read.

How about "No wonder it takes so long to get bags, He's reading a gosh darn Newspaper"

What you need to grasp is perception is reality and in that above mentioned REAL CASE I can tell you that my quote above I heard probably 15 times onboard with variations.

Like I said the last time I mentioned this "incident", If you're on break, waiting for an A/C don't read the bleeping newspaper where customers can see you.

I know three times as much as the average flyer about ramp operations and I know very little. The PHL ramp has a terrible reputation among even the casual flyer and it's incidents like I detailed that go along way towards reinforcing that reputation. I don't like it because while I think there are issues there to be sure, a great many of them are out of the control of the hourly worker who is IMO getting unfairly blamed.
I don't need to "grasp" anything, your perception is obviously different than mine. You provided the example: a tug driver reading a newspaper while waiting for the plane to block into the gate. If the plane is not parked, you can't off load the baggage. Plain and simple. People have the perception that because the aircraft parks, they will get off faster if everyone stands up at the same time. I think they are nuts and that is my perception and since you say that is reality, we in reality are flying a bunch of nut cakes from point A to point B. Your call not mine!

Barbee is a last name, babe. Like Tom Barbee, James Barbee... French name, perhaps. The Barbee in Barbeetantrums refers to a PHX ramp team lead that used to have temper tantrums. The "Barbee" you refer to is spelled B-A-R-B-I-E. Now go away, you nasty anti-Semite. Israel will be around for another 1000 years and more.

Perhaps you need to read what Piney wrote more carefully....

"when I see a guy on a Tug reading the USA Today when a plane is waiting to be marshalled to the gate"

I think most passengers wouldn't give a second thought to a ramper reading a paper while a plane coming into a gate. Those same passengers would in all probability wonder why a ramper was ignoring the plane waiting to be marshalled into the gate.
